I approve. My second and third playthroughs I got a whole bunch of schematics I didn't even know existed. Pissed me off so much.

If you MUST make them drops, can't you at least make theme guaranteed drops on bosses or dragons? Like the Helm of the Inquisitor.

Honestly everything should be a guaranteed drop from certain enemies and questlines. More RNG doesn't make the game more fun. In fact some players would say it makes the game less fun.

Is that really what you want? A game to be less fun?

This system is very frustrating. I have to work like a damned to find the armour I want for hours, not find it, and than in another run with a character for whom I don't need it, I find it in a moment. Really?!

Is a broken method, the schematics should be rare items to buy or rewards for hard missions or bosses. It may have sense in MMORPG, not in a single player one.  <_<

I don't even see why schematics need to be obtained. I can't hire smiths who already know how to make things?

You should have been able to craft a default Tier 1/2/3 set of Inquisition gear, each being unlocked at certain points. And then you discover various styles along the way at set points. You gain the Dalish's favor and obtain the Dalish style. You do something in Val Royeaux and obtain the Orlesian style. You could get a Warden style, a Templar style, a Dwarven style, etc. Same armor stats, just a different style option when crafting.

Knowing EA, you just have to wait for the 4.99$ Schematics DLC.

Currently I am using cheatengine to put schematics into vendors, it's way less frustrating then spending hours farming chests like in some mmo.

Yeah console players don't have the option to use a cheat engine. I just recently learned about the farming shematics, so I'll be doing this. It's stupid that we have to do this. A perk sounds like a good idea.

You know that Roman Legion flag thing you buy Tactician's Renewals from? Just put all the schematics in there via patch. Having a hard time farming your T3 armor? You can buy it there.

I know right and I agree that it should be changed. Still I find it beter then sitting hours in front of a chest just to get that inquisitor helmet or dalish warrior armor :)

Yeah consol people always get the short end of the stick.

Either way I hope they change this somehow.

Well and the shortness of sword and staff schematics is really odd....for a game in this universe. I've gad 2.5 pkaythroughs, non-farming, and gave never pulled a tier 3 on handed sword or tier 3 staff.

There are tier 3 staffs beside the one you can buy in Emprise Du Lion? 'Cause that's news to me.

At the moment there is ONE tier3 longsword schematic(aside the dlc one). Good luck with RNG drops

I managed to get the tier 3 Dwarven longsword schematic. However, its one of the weakest tier 3 longswords.

Therefore I'm trying to farm for the Masterwork Tevinter Longsword schematic. Its going to take a long time :(

They really need to give all schematics to a merchant, or a 100% drop or loot from something. RNG, is BS for a game that doesn't respawn chests.

I would think they could add it to the Inquisitor's perks that already exist that kinda/barely address the issue. Under Cullen's section (I think) you can buy Mage, Rogue, or Warrior schematics. Why not just fatten the reward pile in that section? Since Inquisitor perks are far and few (relative to the gold currency :P) it seems like it would make sense to have the rewards for spending one be actually, I dunno, helpful

How do you use CE with DAI? I read that it installs some kind of malware on your system? is it safe to use?

And do i have to use it everytime i play DAI?

If you are playing as Elf then that perk should automatically give you access to all Elf trained armors imo..

No I didn't have any malware, that said always be cautious when using it. Use antimalware software etc.

If you only want to get schematics then you can use it once. As soon as you get your schematics they are yours, no need to use CE more.

I support this. The RNG system of this game is awful.

I agree that RNG in a single player game is a bad idea but what's done is done. A way I see this changing is if Bioware adds a new merchant via patch or DLC (I really hope not though lol).

Farming for good armour isn't fun and I hope something changes.

+1 vote, mostly for our console-based friends

Making *every* T3 obtainable via side quests, missions, perks, and vendors would make you feel like you've earned them instead of just lucking out.  They could also attach level requirements that way (GASP) so you're not running around with T3 gear at level 12 and trivializing the rest of the game.
