So, should I subject a random bunch of PuGs to my level 1 character when I haven't even played SP?

Sure, I could spend the weekend playing the campaign first, but then I'd have no hope of unlocking the necessary Greataxe and completing the Weekend Challenge.

Have I earned enough karma from carrying PuGs in ME 3 to subject them to my complete lack of any game skill or knowledge in DA:I?

Do they even have a hope of extracting with me walking into trees while muttering, "How do I move the camera?"

Will they expect my Keeper to actually to actually know how to cast spells, or will it be acceptable if I simply glare menacingly at whatever comes around, while hiding behind the archer?

Is "Yeah, go get 'im!" considered enough support to be acceptable?

These are the questions that plague me...

Yes.

Chances are you're gonna get carried anyway. 1/2 the games I play on threatening two of my companions will be lucky to even get a kill medal. They're basically there for aggro distraction and gold pickup.

So... I put a Frost Rune into my new longbow that I unlocked, and the rune disappeared, but it isn't on the longbow.

Here I thought I was going to make myself more helpful, and I think I lost myself an upgrade, somehow.

You on console or PC?

If console you may want to wait a day or two for Sony/Microsoft to get their sh*t together.

So far, I haven't had any problems logging in to XBL on either my 360 or my XBone.

That having been said, I've been sitting in a lobby of rotating people since I first started, and I don't know if this is just normal lobby stuff, or if everyone keeps getting disconnected because of the problems.

I guess it is worth trying it anyway. It will take time for you to get used to the controls and unlock a Greataxe (hopefully you can have one by Sunday) on top of having to unlock a Character that can wield a Greataxe. But if you are planning to get into the game anyway, this is at least a good moment to keep you focused.
Though in all honesty, the Challenges on DAMP do not award anything worth one's time like Banners or whatever. It is basically a box full of junk, 96% of the time.

As was mentioned above, you also need to unlock a character to wield the Great Axe (either Katari or Reaver).  Fortunately you don't have to wait for it to drop, but can unlock it by creating the appropriate armor using mats salvaged from your less useful drops.

It turns out my Frost Rune was just hidden, and I didn't lose it.

Just think, at the start, there were some number of matches comprised exclusively of level 1 characters played by people who had not started single player. And they died and they tried again.

It's nice of you to be so considerate, but as others have said, you should just go for it. The sooner you start, the better position you will be in for weekend challenges.

It went a lot faster than I expected it to. I don't even know for sure if we succeeded, or not. I didn't even know what the buttons did, so I guess it must have gone okay.

(I'm still not used to recording in 720p on XBone... my 360 supported 1080p, so I'm a bit flabbergasted.)

Matches on DAMP are shorter than they were on ME3MP. You landed on "wave" 4 out of 5, so pretty much towards the end.
Also you guys succeed, and strangely you were all using the same character.

Uhhhh...you might want to actually look at your powers in your skill tree and read the tooltips. There's being "new to a game" and there's not using common sense.

Actually, I did that, and I was only using my powers for the first minute of combat, because that's the only thing they explain in the MP menus when you look through them. If you weren't aware, level one characters don't get a lot of powers. That's why you can only see the option for two of them in the HuD (you may notice that they were re-mapped - meaning that I obviously had gone into that menu.)

It was shooting normal arrows that I didn't know how to do (until I figured it out after a minute.) If there was a tooltip for that in the multiplayer menu, I didn't see it.

Thanks for the uncalled for comment about common sense, though. That was charming.

I'll speedrun you scrub. just put "BSN Speedrun" (same GT @x360). If you put "Shadohz is the greatest living N7" then I may stop long enough for you to loot.

No problem, happy to help. Protip Advanced Tactics: There's button configuration layouts in video games in option menus.

No, no, don't bother to read before responding. That would be a waste of time. No one does that.

When it starts to become a problem for you and the people around you then you've crossed the line between self-gratification and obsession. There's a support group for that.  :P
