opening locked doors without a rogue.

If you're running a two handed warrior class or iron bull, use mighty blow to bust it open.
for you sword and shield classes or cassandra/blackwall users try using shield bash.
Now I know mighty blow works, shield bash I haven't tried but it is the only hard hitting similar move in the sword and shield skill tree.

You can bash open a door that needs picking?

Whoa, seriously? too bad you can't shield bash a bride to fix itself or you wouldn't need a mage.

Playing a warrior this time, I can't figure out how to get open the locked doors below the Haven building. Even though I have Sera and Varric now and the deft hands perk, I can't figure out a way to get them to go down into the basement with me. So I finally gave up and went on to Skyhold (after a lot of bad things happened). ![]()

You have to actually have clicked on the doors/tried to use the use key while the door was highlighted. Then go talk to Sera and she will have a dialogue option to ask her to unlock the doors.

I "thought" that was what I was doing (all of those things) but it didn't work for me. I've also had trouble with not being able to save the Haven people that could be saved because my clicks didn't seem to be recognized but this game, I was able to do it. So maybe it's a learning curve for me and when I do my third play through (a mage), maybe I'll get it right (I'm using a keyboard and mouse, BTW). ![]()

I also had the underworld contacts inquisitor perk for the underworld dialogue options, that may factor.

You don't need any perk, just this:I also had the underworld contacts inquisitor perk for the underworld dialogue options, that may factor.
I had the same problem, wasn't registering my mouse clicks but when I flopped against the doors spamming the F key (my use/interact key) it said "Requires Rogue." Then when I went back to Sera I had a dialogue option.

I did have that underworld perk also...I actually stayed in Haven longer than I really wanted because of those doors. I'll try all the things you said, next time...I never did get the "requires rogue" message. I'll throw myself at those doors until Cory takes over the world, if I had to do so. ![]()

Too bad an inferno mage can't ignite the doors, the wooden ones at least, and, melt the metal ones.

Activating stuff with the mouse sometimes bugs out - that`s why i`m using an "f" button now, it does the same thing and more convenient for me. When you activate the door in the right way it should say on the lower left corner of the screen - "requires a rogue", i, for example can`t click on those doors with the mouse, only f button works(unless i`m controlling a rogue myself). You also can destroy red lyrium things even without the warrior using the f button.

My first PT, with my rogue, I could not get the first red lyrium thing to break, even using a warrior. I had to go away, read up on it (I wasn't doing anything wrong) and was later able to come back and break the thing (with a lot of wailing and screaming and flopping around). I have never had so much trouble playing a game with a keyboard and mouse.
The "F" button method is a good one. I was having a lot of trouble closing rifts when I tried to use my mouse to do it since a lot of rifts are too high to see (why can't my player look "up"?). Now that I use F to close rifts, it's much easier to do.

Your character can look up if you turn off the auto-center on the camera. Of course, if you leave it off like I do, you have to recenter your camera manually.

You don't just click, you click and hold to save them. Also if you mouse has a DPI setting, turn it up a bout 25%, it seems to help (or press the DPI button once if you happen to have one on your mouse - only on SOME gaming mice)

When you look at the object that can be activated, there will be a circle around it - if it glows/bright - it will activate when you press "f'/click the mouse (mouse still bugs out sometimes, even if the circle is bright, the f button always seems to work for me), it`s kinda hard to find the right angle with the red lyrium stuff for some reason.
And for rifts i just "look up" with the mouse? I heard that people had problems with rift-closing but i guess i turned off auto-center right from the start or smth, i remember fiddling with all the options, including mouse acceleration and i have no problems turning the camera around.
The reviving thing does require you to hold the button (f or right mouse), there will be an indication on the activation circle of the "reviving process", when it goes full circle the person will be saved.
