Well, Andruil kinda wanted Fen'harel's
(It was in one of Felassan's stories from The Masked Empire "Fen'harel and the tree" I believe it was callled, you can find it on the wiki.)
So I'm gonna say no, Sera is not Andruil. ![]()

If it's actually true, it's interesting how Solas, Sera, and Flemeth graft themselves in human affairs.. and seem to care about them. More than anything to do with elves.
Leliana is a bit of an oddball I guess. It just seems odd to slap something as big as godhood on a character that people might not have kept around in their game.
But then there's Kieran, who is/was also godlike yet he may not even exist. What I mean is that if the devs wanted Sera to reappear in a future game in a more important role, it could happen and there's some precedent.
I agree with the possibility of this theory.
I would also tell my fellows in the Sera thread, but there are enough Seranaders around as it is for the entire thread to know.
sera is H M Murcoch
Bull is B A Berracus
Cass is Hanibal Smith
Dorian is Face
i suppose Varric is the reporter girl.
Interesting theory, I think it's likely she's hiding something/not who she says she is. But then again that seems to be a theme with a lot of the companions. They all have their own agendas and reasons for joining the Inquisitor.
As for Solas' comment about his people, I don't know. I really believe he was confused about who his "people" were supposed to be. He just woke up from a long slumber to find the world changed, and is a man out of time and place. He doesn't identify with modern elves, and the ancients are mostly gone. He betrayed the other gods and is responsible for what has happened to elven culture as a result. It seems like he's not sure whether to just give up or continue with his plans...until the end there.
It's possible Sera could have magical potential that was just never developed. Solas talks about how there was a time all elves had it, so he could be sensing a latent ability....or just checking to see if she's open to it. In DA2, it was said that more and more mages were being born, so perhaps it's even a potential all people have. Could be the veil is suppressing it somehow?
Don't over think Sera. She is more like a regular human than anything. She doesn't like to delve to much into elven lore because she thinks its stupid and doesn't make sense. And Sera doesn't want to be associated with that.
Solas on the other hand is the true mystery. We all know by now who he really is, but his motive and what that means for the other races of thedas remains a mystery.
Wow. Don't jump to assumptions that everyone knows what Solas is.
I know of Seranaders not done with their first playthroughs.
It's an interesting theory, but I think it'd be kind of lame on Bioware's part that all your elf companions end up being gods in disguise. I think my elf Inquisitor would just look up at the sky like, "Really? I thought I was supposed to be the important one in this story."
Please, Sera is the successful reincarnation of an Elven princess by Warden-Commander Gaspar Asturian at Vigil's Peak... It just took a while to happen.
Evidence? A codex entry states the Elven princess' favorite food was "raspberry jam". This line from Josephine on Sera: "How? How can one elf eat so much jam?".
Regarding the bit about Sera referring to the Elves as "The People", when you first meet Sera you have the option to ask her,
"'People'? Do you mean Elves?"
"What? No, people people!"
She's utterly dismissive of Elven culture and Elven people as separate from humans. You can say this is just her "protesting too much", but she backs up her disdainful words pretty often.
Wow. Don't jump to assumptions that everyone knows what Solas is.
I know of Seranaders not done with their first playthroughs.
edit to add more: I do think it's intentional that they have a lot of similiarites, but I don't think it's because she's actually an ancient elf. I think it's because there's a sadness there: both are outcasts, but their particular brand of outcast makes it unable for them to connect. Same with Sera and Viv: they have a lot in common, but the class difference there keeps them from really seeing it.
Agreed. I think their similarities on a characterization level were deliberate, but only so they could provide contrast and play off of each other. The writers purposefully create characters who interact in interesting ways. So the parallels between them are certainly there, but they're there for a metatextual reason.
I know the Solas reveal has had people analyzing and re-analyzing everything, but I think this theory is a bit much. I think Solas's comments are partly trolling and partly him trying to reach out to her in his own way.
Now, that said, I do think that Sera has some latent magical ability. She's very perceptive, even though she doesn't always realize it. And I think her fear of magic and the Fade is in part based on her suspecting this and wanting no part of it. However I don't think it's ever going to be significant, story-wise. If true, it just provides some added insight into her character.
I just though of two more particular things about Sera says that might add to my OP.
One, when Cole remarks that Sera's no matter how Sera moves her head "Her ear are always pointed to the Fade" and she gets hyper defensive. In fact, she is highly unnerved by Cole all the time. This might indicate she is afraid he will discover her true nature as Elves especially the ancient ones are connected to the Fade.
Also, when you ask Sera about what she thinks about Solas she says. "Solas? Pfft. His head's crammed up a thousand years ago". I find this remark VERY speculative for two reasons.
One, although it might seem as a throw away comment it indicated early in the game she might know who Solas really is. At this point in the game, no one knows who he really is much less his possible age. Does she knows he is at least an "Ancient Elf" at this point? And how would she know this unless she is one of his kind?
It is also interesting that she mentions "a thousand" years ago, as opposed to "thousands of years" or just "ages ago". The term "a thousand years ago " comes up at least three times in DAI. Again, once is a accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is something altogether different. Also, could this be a possible connection to Shartan? If you look at Shartan's image in DAO he looks VERY similar to Solas.
Could there be a connection between Shartain and Fen'Harel and Sera's remark alluding to it?
More stuff to consider.
Sera? It could be an interesting DLC.
DLC focused around Sera...
I'd rather study.
Sera isn't anything special.
She just enrage Solas on a personal level.
She's a walking nightmare for him, she's the kind of person he fought for , he changed the world for.
He wanted to make things better for all the elves.Instead the elves lost everything.
And here she is , having fun , living her life and not giving a crap about what was lost .
So yeah Solas is not having a great moment when she's around.
And the main reason is because Sera is happy.
She's happy she's no mage , she's happy she's no immortal , she's having fun being poor and harassing the nobles and she has no end goal .
When Solas says "the People they need me" , well ...that's not really 100% true .Sera is the proof that some of his people doesn't need him , or his vision of how Thedas should be.
Anyway I think Solas is the educated men who always had a position of privilege , he rebelled for a cause even if he wasn't so in touch with that cause.
Sera has little education , she rebels because it amuses her and to prove little people are not completly powerless. But she's not the kind of person who makes big plans or has big ambition.
@OP Great theory *_*
More reason to kill her and Solas.
When Solas says to Sera (in a early banter), that they are not that different in a way, he referred to them as being both rebellious in their own way

I saw that as more a weird Cole-ish way of saying that she had magical potential. Mages are attuned to the Fade, after all. You don't need to be an elven goddess for that.
And Sera's unnerved because she hates magic and demons. They very genuinely freak her the **** out. Remember how she acts when you bring her to the Fade? Or in the In Hushed Whispers quest? Besides, pretty much everyone who isn't Solas is put off by Cole reading their minds. It's a natural reaction.

That's likely the writers having a laugh. They do that a lot where Solas is concerned. It also shows that Sera is perceptive. She has no idea that Solas is an ancient elf. To her, he's a grumpy humourless windbag who has his head stuck in the past and who refuses to live in the moment, something she revels in. It's meant to draw a contrast between their characters.
