I know! They went to Orlais remember? At the end of DA2 Bodahn says they got a hired by Empress I think. I was REALLY surprised not to see them in DAI.

I'm convinced somehow someway they were sent north, possibly on a quest for morrigan, They are almost guaranteed to return for DLC or DA4. My money is on DA4 when we move on from the south because not running into them during the events of inquisition would just be way to unlikely.
