Having just received Dragon Age: Inquisition as a holiday gift and wanting to immediately play as a Qunari, I'm a little disappointed in the fact that Qunari cannot wear helmets. I now understand that Qunari-fit equipment wouldn't exactly be all that common, but I was looking forward to wearing a full-faced helmet with the horns sticking out.

Besides, horns are awesome! What other race gives you horns??
I think the vitaar and horns more than make up for not being able to wear helmets.

There are too many different horn options to accommodate for each helmet.
Qunari get vitaar - face paint.
So I've read. I'm a little sad over the fact, but that would explain the tattoos I was suddenly wearing halfway through the prologue, and didn't remember putting on in character creation.

Horns and helmets would be plenty cooler, I think.

The real offence is not being able to craft it. I can't understand why Bioware would leave that out.
This, given how far and away crafting can get, the lack of ability to craft Vitaar is circumspect.

I found a helmet that only Iron Bull can wear. The helmet covers his face with holes for his horns. The mask itself looks like a bull's head.

Yeah. It's just one specific helmet that on,y he can wear though.
Like Vivennes hat, which still makes me sad.

The game makes up for it by giving you vitaar -special face paint that can only be worn by Qunari as it's poisonous to every other race. Game-wise, it gives the same armor and stat bonuses as helmets. It is a helmet in all but physical appearance.
You may be mistaken. I think that the vitaar adds DAMAGE, not ARMOR. Look at the item descriptions.
My Felandaris Vitaar says "15 damage".
The Venatori Helmet that my party member is wearing says "31 armor rating"

Well later on Bull gets a helemt..I think..it's more of a face plate. I think that the Qunari don't actually believe in wearing helmets.

I was fine with War Paint... Until I saw Iron Bull's helmet, now I'm jelly of him. Big time.

Yep.. we should be able to craft Vitaar on our qunari.. I would love to be able to use those poisonous plants you collect for potions, salves and grenades to craft some awesome vitaar.. but nope..
The other problem is armor.. I love the look of the superior battlemaster coat on my qunari.. looks badass
I love the look of SUPERIOR Battlemaster mail but not the BASIC battlemaster mail..
And don't get me started on Battlemaster ARMOR

Yep, the face-plate helm looks great, and i wish there were more.

I too miss helmets. It might be better if we could craft vitar, but as it is most look terrible, What really annoys me though is that in the crafting screen you can see what your qunari would look like with Warden or Templar helmets, but you can't make them (horns clip through them). Just let us wear those helmets, who cares about clipping.

Even just being able to pick the colours of the vitaar would be good.

Well Qunari makes the best mages thanks to Vitarr. Adding plain %25 damage bonus overall.

Probably due to some time issue with the qunari included at the last minute even qunari weapons lacks schematics.
Problem with the helmet like the iron bull one is that bull have only that pair of horn so they can prevent any major clipping but with a unknown horn sets that can be really tricky

If Qunari face paint is everywhere, why isn't there one Qunari helmet? Not a single darn import?

I don´t get why war paint gives damage. Do they kiss their enemies to death in battle? ![]()

Most Vitaars look like if someone fell and rubbed his face all over the floor of a draq queen's dressing room... ![]()
I hope 'The Black Emporium' introduces some cool Qunari headgear, like Bull's one.

I was too, at first...but they are already the badasses and all, so I got over it

The whole clipping issue is bothersome in this game between hairstyles, hats, and helmets.

If you are on the PC, there is a mod at the Nexus that significantly improves the look of the vitaars.
