Yeah I couldn't see Blackwall as a romantic interest--he sounded interesting, but then the fatherly air that I got, plus what I heard about his storyline made him a big no-no for me.  I do wish there were more turns in the Cullen romance, even though it was really nice.  It was a little boring and definitely the "safe" romance.  A few more convs of the lyrium thing, maybe have him wake up next to you after a lyrium nightmare, and have a good conversation there, or comforting after losing the clan, etc, would have been nice.

Solas is fascinating....the baldness kinda bothered me on first glance, but then I got to know him and I can't imagine him with hair, now.  If he didn't just up and leave you (and also possibly be evil) he'd have been perfect.

Even if you choose to romance Garrus, you have to deal with the whole "never have biological children" so to some thats also a tragedy.  I do not remember any LI in NWN for females.  Other games like the Witcher are so sexist I have just stopped buying them.  Too much rape in alot of the games, "to move the story along" etc are another thing I see that irks me.   Its a game, I want to play to take a break from reality, i do not want fluffy pink unicorns, but a bit less tragedy would be welcome.  

If you date Tali, you have no kids, Miranda is barren as well. Gay couples and older couples also can't have kids. It's not a tragedy, it's a fact of life that certain people can't have kids, especially if you date alien (except for Asari), it comes with the package. Biologically, you can't have any kids with any alien, your Asari kid wouldn't be biologically yours. Plus, what's wrong with adoption?

Just adopt some turian and human babies. There certainly won't be a shortage after the Reaper war.

As above, the bottom line for me too is that I don't want or expect to be reliving real-life bad relationships in a videogame - at least, not without some kind of ending/closure to them. It can be a long-term pain triggered again. 
 

ME was actually the game I felt luckiest in due to Garrus. During ME1 he quickly became a favourite squadmate and it was a wish fulfilled for him to be a romance option in subsequent games. I think that feeling of good humour, comfort, familiarity and camaradarie is probably what is missing from DA:I for me, but that is just personal preference. The lack of biological children is not an issue with plenty of new Krogans to adopt!

A LOT of the LI's can't have children, male and female.  All of the bi romances, of course.  Alistair (or your Warden at all) probably can't have children due to the taint.

Tali, Thane, Garrus, any elf/human (would be considered human).

If Garrus and Shepard feel the need for a bio kid I'm sure ME's technology is up to the job of providing offspring that's related genetically to at least one of them.

Isn't it?  I like that the women can initiate, but (again the trend) all the time gets tiresome.  Kaidan never started anything, Garrus you couldn't kiss, Thane you had to kiss, Jacob you had to kiss, Alistair, Zev, Fenris.........

As you can see, and there's definitely no flirt option chosen to indicate consent to him pouncing femHawke. I'll pick having to initiate any day over this.

Gah that's just horrible.  It's like Kaidan hitting on you seconds after Thane's death, or Kaidan accusing you of cheating after he railed at and walked away from you on Horizon.

Well it was only one of the options. The other I think had you tell him you wanted him too or something and the last was "Noooooo ABORT ABORT." XD

Yeah they did FemHawke dirty right there flirt does not equal LIPLOCK ME NOW. (Or at least have the PC pull them in for the kiss so it's still a horrible mistake but one you brought on yourself).
