Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to romance demands

Anyhow, mother Giselle would overall be a reasonable candidate, and we can't have that
The real question is, would she even want the position?

Hey come on, I wasn't being serious. I was pulling the ******.
Laughing at "can't skip the singing". I've done a dozen play-throughs so I can relate to this only too well. I tend to leave the room and go smoke a cigarette while waiting for it to end.

Apparently Bioware were going to let you become a Divine... then the idea got scrapped. But yeah, you'd have to work harder for it if you were a male. Even harder if you played a Qunari.
Great question. Too bad we're never given the chance to ask her.The real question is, would she even want the position?

Eta: someone tell me how to make bold text around here, because my tags don't work.
If you're using a computer then there should be a series of icons above the post that control font, font size, adding emotes, a number of other options. There should also be an option with a B - Bold, I - italic, U - underline, S - strike through, X2 - subscript, and X2 - superscript. If that fails then I suppose [ bold][/ bold] would work, without the spaces.
If you're on a phone/tablet then I have no idea.
Getting back to the topic:
Since we are unable to ask her we should not assume that she would say "yes/no". Would she have been a good candidate? Possibly, but would she have the same story importance as Cassandra/Leliana/Vivienne?
Thanks for the tip on bolding. I'm on a tablet, so I have to manually enter everything. The issue was just one of changing these brackets < > to these [ ].If you're using a computer then there should be a series of icons above the post that control font, font size, adding emotes, a number of other options. Anyway, back on topic...I think Bioware gave Mother Giselle a great deal of importance pre-Skyhold, especially with the whole singing scene. They made her into a spiritual type mentor who was capable of providing guidance and direction.
So, making her into Divine would've been fine for the story, IMHO.
In fact, the more I think of it, the more I think it was the idea at some stage of the game's development to have Giselle be an option for divine, and that was eventually dropped. As it stands now, after Skyhold she's just a dangling plot thread.
Which will hopefully be explained sometime down the line, ideally not in DA4.

My pet theory is that MG is a good "escape hatch" for Bioware if they ever decide to revisit Southern Thedas after this game. "Divine Victoria abdicated/was assassinated and the Chantry elected divine Giselle!" And whatever reforms YOUR Divine made, MG modifies them. That way, everyone can start out with the same game state.
Just my pet theory.
Imagine the outcry if that occurred...
People would be decrying BioWare for destroying their "choice"...
Maybe because she doesn't have enough support from the sisters and chancellors to try candidacy.
It's the Chantry who chooses who will compete for the Sunburst Throne, not the Inquisition.
We merely show who do we favour.
