Ok, I must have a very vulnerable weakness or something, I'm doing the elven ruins (glyphs quest) Im way over leveled for this, mobs are level 11'ish and I'm level 18'ish and those arcane horror are destroying my face, my tank especially. I have pretty damn decent gear and they just chew through cassandra like a fat kid through a piece of cake. What are they using? Why are they doing so much damage that many levels below me?
Holy arcane horror damage in my face Batman

1: they do spirit damage meaning armour is useless against that. Only magic and spirit resistance helps.
2: it definitely looks like you have some berserk item on you. GET RID OF IT (IE do 10-30% more damage but you also take 100-300% more damage)

Also berserk does not make you take double damage, it does a lot more as it puts all you resistances in negative rather than multiplying the damage you take.

Arcane Horrors have an ability they only use when their target isn't in melee range. It's a spirit based series of DoTs that do insane damage. In contrast, if their target is in melee range, they'll do their much weaker melee attack and periodically teleport around.
It's one of the few anti-ranged mechanics in the game. If you're fighting Arcane Horors, make sure your entire party focuses them down, especially your tank. In the ruins in the Exalted plains, one problem is that you get two Arcane Horrors at once. So one of them is likely to spam its ranged attack of death.

Its too bad there aren't more enemies that can threaten tanks.
