Okay, so I just killed Tholapsyx and got her red dragon hide. I've read on the wiki it is used to create powerful scale mail, breastplate or half-plate. So i buy a breastplate mold from a merchant. I put the hide and the mold on the blacksmith workbench and use the smith hammer but it just says "Its not a valid recipe". So am I doing something wrong, missing a component, or is it some kind of bug? My skill in Craft Armor is 27.

it is used to create
powerfulscale mail, breastplate or half-plate.
Fixed. I guess you could use one for flavour or something, but there are far better armours.

If you're a purist, you could use the dragon armor for your druid - though the game itself doesn't require it.

If you're referring to the non-metallic armour restriction for druids in PnP... well, the ones you can create are metallic. Which is interesting, considering you're using red dragon HIDE.

i think you need 28 for Red Dragon Breastplate
Have the bard stand nearby with his "inspire skill" ability turned on. That will get you at least a plus two and you should be good to go.

Craft Armour is influenced by your intelligence bonus, so any spell, potion or equipment that boosts intelligence might help (like a potion of fox's cunning).
The spells Prayer, Heroism and Greater Heroism also increase skills.
