Unless there's a time jump and the Inquisitor goes to the Anderfels I doubt it.
Maybe DA 4, 5, or 6 (if they get that far). Griffons deserve their own game to be honest. It isn't something that should be half-assed and should be a polished game play feature.

The dragons pulled it off. Maybe you'll find some in a secluded valley or something. Or an egg you have to hatch. That would be awesome. If they lay eggs, no expert.
It's already out!

I'd be fine with waiting until they can get it so we can fly on them.
But...they could do both. It would be easy to account for the flightlessness this game.
"Inquisitor, we found you a griffon, but there was some damage to the specimen's wing. It'll have to stay on the ground."

There are only 13 griffons left. Their population won't be big enough to use them as mounts for quite a while. The dragons had two hundred years to rebuild their numbers and they were helped by Yavanah/Flemeth.

That's half-assing it and I wouldn't want a flightless gliffon. And besides they would be too young at this point. The events of Last Flight are concurrent with Inquisiton. The Inquisitor won't be able to fly on a griffon the size of a mabari.

Eh, skip the griffons and just use dragons then.
