Calling it now. DA4 will be a pokemon style hunting and farming game with the ultimate objective being to breed/capture the bestest Griffon evar! Pokemon has a large market and fanbase, they should aim for it to maximise profits. When people complain that the gameplay is dull the response will be "It's all about the Wardens recovering their legacy! It's a great story!".

Unless there's a time jump and the Inquisitor goes to the Anderfels I doubt it.
Maybe DA 4, 5, or 6 (if they get that far). Griffons deserve their own game to be honest. It isn't something that should be half-assed and should be a polished game play feature.

But...they could do both. It would be easy to account for the flightlessness this game.

There are only 13 griffons left. Their population won't be big enough to use them as mounts for quite a while. The dragons had two hundred years to rebuild their numbers and they were helped by Yavanah/Flemeth.

That's half-assing it and I wouldn't want a flightless gliffon. And besides they would be too young at this point. The events of Last Flight are concurrent with Inquisiton. The Inquisitor won't be able to fly on a griffon the size of a mabari.

Eh, skip the griffons and just use dragons then.
