Or wyverns. I want wyverns.
If they make a DLC about griffins I'll cry

There are only 13 griffons left. Their population won't be big enough to use them as mounts for quite a while. The dragons had two hundred years to rebuild their numbers and they were helped by Yavanah/Flemeth.
I see, well Bioware isn't known for writing things in stone

There's a difference between updating/retcon'ng lore and pretending an entire book doesn't exist.
There won't be griffons until at least another game. Manage your expectations is all I'm saying.

Now that game though, that... that was a grind.

I'm actually rather curious as to what those guys are going to do with Feathers 1-13. It's never explained in the book, to my frustration, and there's also the potencial mess in Weisshaupt, and the possibility that the Grey Wardens cease to exist in the near future.
An even if everything goes well resurrecting the griffins as a species with a total population of 13 blood-related individuals shouldn't be possible goddammit Bioware.

It's possible. Ms. Merciel did the research on it. Something about only 7 dogs of a certain breed left and they brought it out of near extinction.

Interesting. I've checked it out, but can't seem to find the case you speak of. I don't suppose you could be more specific?

If I could've been more specific I would've been. Sorry. I know Ms. Merciel has posted on these forums before to promote the book.
It should be in here IIRC.

Hoping next game rather than standalone dlc will feature griffons.
This. My bet (and I'll save this prophecy somewhere to see if Iam right) is DA4 is featuring the Wardens and their internal struggle, potential downfall of the entire Order and epic rebirth, including a full attack of griffons during a big fight against the main evil, hopefully a massive Darkspawn army ... it gives me shivers of delight only thinking such things ![]()

I know it's greedy but I would love to have dragons as mounts as well as griffons or at the very least wyvern mounts. ![]()

That's half-assing it and I wouldn't want a flightless gliffon. And besides they would be too young at this point. The events of Last Flight are concurrent with Inquisiton. The Inquisitor won't be able to fly on a griffon the size of a mabari.
Ohhh, fair enough.
Personally I wouldn't mind a baby griffon the size of a mabari, even if I can't ride on it. You only made it sound more adorable.
However, yes, you're right. Polished gameplay feature. Next game.

Yeah, the moment we see a griffon in game (let alone ride one) I'll be screeching. Not quite different from a real griffon I suppose.
