Until recently, I opened with Twin Fangs in stealth with ring that does 30% more damage.

This would hit for about 5K damage, sometimes more. I auto crit when I'm in stealth.

I saw people talk about Shadow Strike, read the description, and man, this thing is weak. It barely does 1K damage. Have yet to see it do more damage.

I'm level 17, have two daggers that do about 320 damage.

Am I missing something? I'm behind enemy when I open with SS .

Edit: ignore what I said. You're not providing enough info. It could be a number of things that is causing TF to do way more damage than SS. Depends what abilities you have and what stats you got. All I know is I can't figure it out. SS doesn't do as much damage as TF for me but not by much.

shadowstrike is not supposed to do as much damage as twin fangs.

What is your gear/crafting setup?

I.e. what stats did you get for your crafted daggers and grips?

Shadow strike is fast, has knockdown, and reduces cooldown times. The following strategies maximize it.

- If you've taken damage in the last 5 seconds, you'll lose much of its DPS. This is probably the problem with the OP's use.

- If you use a fire flask this ability can be spammed the fastest, and knockdown locks the target.

- Using the skill from stealth gives the skill a big damage bonus.

- Flanking with the skill doesn't give additional damage bonus (besides flanking bonus) but it reduces cooldown times by a hefty 4 seconds.

I don't normally see a ton of damage from stealth strike, so maybe something is up. However, when using a fire flask the skill turns into a whole new beast. I typically continue to open with twin fangs from the flank though.

Shadow Strike is there because its upgrade is OK, but mostly because it lets you uppercut fools into the stratosphere. Feels good man.

Beyond that, yeah, it's not that great.

SS is probably my second hardest hitting skill, but it does require my disengaging and picking my angles well. I usually end up having too much fun and wading into a sea of enemies to chase my <50% health target. Then get aoe damage, which negates the whole thing. But, uppercuts!

It's not amazing but it does land on already knocked down targets better than most skills and the air that enemies killed with it catch is well worth the price of admission.

Plus twin fangs is way less satisfying to yell SHORYUKEN While using.

I've never found the damage to be impressive compared to twin fangs (or death blow). It's merely something you do to reduce your cooldowns on more damaging spells (like twin fangs!).
