Soo, this question has been poking in my mind for a few times now, and I wanted to ask:

We all know that the Game Takes place in CE(Council Era), but here is this: Did Humans stopped employing BC and AD after they made peace with the Council after the First contact War? Or after they opened a Embassy on the Citadel?

How does it work, exactly? Are the humans in year (maybe) 4000 now? Because I don't know how it would be possible for humans to use the CE Timeline when they didn't even discovered the Turians and made the First contact...

Thoughts?

The timeline codex uses the AD/BC convention, so I  can't see the Council dating systems matter much to the Alliance.

CE means "Common Era". BCE is "Before Common Era". It is simply an alternate way of saying BC/AD.

The dates in the timeline are all human dates.

To further emphasis what the above poster's have already said:

"This is the timeline of the Mass Effect universe. All dates are in BCE (Before Common Era) and CE (Common Era)."

You have a misunderstanding of what CE means and thus assumed it was Council Era.

Council Era would be from the time the Asari discovered the Citadel and it would be in Thessia standard years. NOT Earth standard years or Common Era. The year would be approximately 3073 for the start of the reaper invasion.

Would it be from when the (the Asari) found the Citadel, or would it be from when the Salarians joined them on the Citadel and began an actual  Council?

Ohh riight! I always get confused in this... I always thought CE meant Council Era, but Read it somewhere that it was actually Common Era and forgot... Thank you all! :)

^This. Humans discovered the mass relays in what, like 2155? That doesn't mean in like 3000 years or something. That's referring to 140 years from now. Think of how much technology has advanced in the past 20 years. It would make sense that we've made even more vast technological discoveries in over 100 years. The mass relays just jump our tech even further.
