Straight female gamer buzzing in.
I didn't like the straight female Hawke romances. First playthrough I was just put off by them, so I ended up keeping my Hawke single. Fenris, Anders and Sebastian just aren't my type at all. Fenris is a monotone woe-is-me windbag, Anders is.... Anders, and Sebastian is a zealot.
I'm doing a second playthrough of DA2 right now, and I might just throw femHawke with Merrill just so I can get the damn trophies. Haven't decided yet. Kind of wish they let me romance Varric, I would have gone for him.
I don't think making every single character bisexual is the right way to go about the whole "X gender gets more romance options than Y gender" issue. I think that takes away from making each character their own person. There is nothing wrong with having characters with different sexual orientations, but when they're all bisexual, it takes something away from the experience. Having someone be unobtainable to your character can also provide some replay value.
