While I don't care about Kirkwall, I would be mad to support that zealot in an campaign that will likely result in my old friend getting killed. If it were to me, I would make the Vael family vanish for good.

Anders isn't in Kirkwall, and unlikely to be in any danger as a result; your Inquisitor's people become Sebastian's advisers. It's heavily implied you have some control of Starkhaven and Kirkwall as a consequence.

Anders will be fine. He's hiding in a cave somewhere like the Taliban.

I'm talking about Aveline.

Well i won't argue about Hawke because he screwd up many times but Aveline did pretty much good job with city guards removing corruption and making them effective you pretty much can hear that under her CG become much better than they started.Only problem with Aveline was that she turned a blind eye for hawke companions but i don't see how it made kirkwall worse.Pretty much i can see kirkwal better in hands of Aveline who is responsible and mature than under sebastian i explained why in my last post in that topic.

Nothing happens to her. She backs down and helps Sebastian if the Inquisition supports him.

Plot also demands that some sense of resolution be given, but now at the end of DA2 Hawke has fled, sh*t has firmly hit the fan and the world order has been thrown into chaos

Hawke utterly failed in everything he attmepted, beyond trying to get into pants I suppose.  he tried to keep the peace with Qunari and Kirkwall, failed, he tried to protect his family, failed, he tried to keep templars and mages from coming to open war, absolutely failed

Yeah, how would not doing anything have helped though?

that doesn't change the fact that he made things worse

Also notice how Hawke and Varric basically run organized crime in Kirkwall and Aveline allows it to continue. It's no wonder Varric approves if you help her.

The people in Kirkwall are hardly responsible for what Anders did...oh wait, Meredith kind of was, but hey, now she's immortalized as a lovely red lyrium statue in the Gallows in Kirkwall! They might still be having some issues in Kirkwall, but that doesn't make invading the city and overthrowing my bestie Aveline okay. I took great delight in sending Sebastian packing back to Starkhaven with his tail between his legs.

You can, I believe you have to choose Leliana's option IIRC.

But the only way to get this mission in the first place is to spare Anders back in DA2 (alongside recruiting Sebastian). Otherwise, you will get a mission from Sebastian where he asks the inquisition for support to help rebuild Kirkwall.

I rebuilt last time. This time I came in with all the choices I never made in game, so it should be interesting

Well those events pretty much couldn't have been prevented though. Templar-mage animosity had been brewing up for some time, Isabela screwed up pretty badly by stealing the Qunari Holy Tome, and Hawke didn't have a blood mage detector in his/her pocket that bleeped when one reached their family. She/He did their best, which counts for something in my book.

Or maybe he approves because you helped out his friend fight off an hostile force. Either way, Sebastian is the Alistair of DA2. Immature and throwns temper tautrums when things don't go his way. But unlike Alistair, you can't talk Sebastian down, and the brat will certanly not have his way if it depends on me.

Aveline is my bro, her intention is always about maintaining peace and impartial. Sebastian is too selfish and a bigger man-child than Alistair. I'll always have her back. Plus, me and Varric never disagree on anything, and this is no exception.

once again, none of that changes what ended up happening

Idd. He pretty much promises to overtake Kirkwall like a mad villain to find Anders if you don't execute him. It was an ominous scene. Thinking he would come to his senses after four years was too much to hope I suppose. Oh well. May your maker give you wits Sebs.

Well I would argue he helped minimalize the devastation, but YMMV.

Well, it's not like a victorious Sebastian wrecks Kirkwall.

On the other hand, making me choose between my two favorite DA2 characters, Seb and Aveline, IS JUST CRUEL.

Oh wait. I stabbed Anders. Crisis over.

> Kill Anders

> Hawke marries Prince Sebastian

> Becomes a Princess

> Inquisition allies with Starkhaven

> Exalted March from Starkhaven on Kirkwall never comes

I fail to see the downside to this?

You know, this is why I love these forums. Everyone can have very differing opinions on most of the events in the game. <3

Honestly, I'm just Smugger McSmugerson that Sebastian always manages to pull off getting Starkhaven back. I guess all those contacts he was building and things he did off-screen/only in the codex actually paid off. WAY TO GO!

I totally pushed him towards the Chantry, but in retrospect, I'm kind of glad he moved on and DIDN'T get exploded at the conclave. Seabass is good people.

And Kirkwall's on borrowed time now that Hawke isn't there to get attacked by and/or hunt down the APPROXIMATELY A BAJILLION blood mages that city generates each day.

Yea but we're talking about Hawke. Anders kept his plans from him/her. Hawke tried to restore order.

As for Cory, sh*t happens. You can't prevent a catastrophe every time, especially if that catastrophe is an ancient immortal Darkspawn magister. Again in that case, he/she tried to kill the bastard. And again, that goes back to the fate thing, because Hawke's father was involved in this whole mess to begin with. So, plot happens. As I said.
