I could use some feedback of more experienced players here.

To be able to contribute properly to a team on threatening (X)/ perilous (Y), how much damage should your weapon do?

Looking for info on all categories.

1H: x/y

2H: x/y

Dw: x/y

Bow: x/y

Staff: x/y

Shield: x/y (if it actually matters)

Are the advanced armors required?

Thanks in advance.

I have no idea, I got what I got and played with it.

On Threatening just go. You will see if you can keep up with damage. And if you play Keeper or Legio do not worry about damage much, rather abilities and their use.

edit: this is assuming you know something about maps, enemy types and their behavior and abilities of other classes in team, which is as important as weapon damage.

Just go look at the OP weapons thread. And regardless of what the "experts" want to tell you, yes, you really should get the best armor.

Threatening you will want level 10 weapons at very least, perilous - level 20+

Here's the same general rule of thumb I say to everybody:

Level 15 weapon with no rune or a level 12 with a superb rune minimal. Superb runes drop often enough that you should have one by the time you're ready to move on to Threatening. You should already have unlocked your first 2nd-tier armor as well. Shield drop rates are so spatial that you just have to use what you got. However your shield should be pretty good by the time you're ready to start up.

When you're ready to hit Perilous you should already have the best gears possible fully crafted (at the very minimal item Level 20).

The exception is probably the Katari, who even when specced out, pretty much just sucks on Threatening without a good team to back him up. How I played from the very start to this point was that I just used the best base level item I had (without crafting) until I was able to get top-tier armor unlocked, then I started crafting. As far as my weapons, the same, I only used Superb runes until I unlocked top-tiered weapons then crafted the one(s) I planned on keeping.

Your character should be at least level 12 for Threatening and level 15 for Perilous (unless of course you want to be like the self-entitled and drag your team down just so you can power-level your character).

If you have 20+ bow with superb rune, you may play Threatening with level 5 Archer without being a burden for your team.
