To be fair, he himself went completely loopy more than once. He was pretty intent on killing everybody in the Mage's Tower back in DA:O and that is his very first appearance. He's softened up since then but I still haven't forgiven him for wanting to kill Wynne and the children under her protection.

He's an interesting character to be sure, but he's also flawed - which is pretty great.

Wynne and those children were evil blood mages!

He had to kill them before it was too late!

Every time you ask something like that, I imagine him all like "Maker, not this again, and how many times I have to tell - we're cool".

There's actually a conversation with him where he says something along the lines of 'Have I given you any reason [to doubt that I trust you/mages]... Of course I have.' And then he tells you that he trusts you. Yet again :)

I forget which time it was, but I passed up some of the mage options because it just got to he point where it felt like my Quizzie was the one with the serious trust issues by always doubting that he trusted her with some of those questions.

Pretty much everyone is better with a mage..

That's my final conclusion :D

Except maybe Josie.

Poor sod. xD

Haven't heard it yet (though I haven't finished the game yet), is it romance-only?

I romanced Cullen with my human mage (all my canon heroes are female mages) and I was not disappointed with how they dealt with it. I loved the conversation about my Warden, what it was like for him in the tower, and how he felt about my quizzie being a mage. Just so much awesome.

I don't think so. Possibly it's the one you get when you ally with the mages.

Ohh, a bit of gossip just heard in the main hall from the Orlesian nobles!

Something along the lines of 'So we are reaching our climax' then 'Well, we're not the only ones.' They then went on to discuss dresses being sewn in Val Royeaux in preparation, and other such details.

Is that who I think it's about?  ;)

If anyone has heard this before, and can remember more than me, then that would be very much appreciated aha.

And I think I got this...is this the one on the battlements where Quizzy says 'I care about you, Cullen,' and he's all 'Still? After everything...?'

I just got that one last night on my two-handed warrior, when I was telling him not to drink the kool-aid start taking lyrium again.  I think it's more related to his revealing his weakness and then throwing his philter box at you.  :D

I got it with my dual-wield rogue, too, except there obviously wasn't the bit about him not trusting mages  :)

In my opinion mage is better than a non-mage when it comes to romancing Cullen. The thought of a Templar and mage being together, sounds too romantic to pass up. Not only that considering how Cullen felt about mages in the past makes the romance even more delicious.

As for romance dialogue as a mage, most of it takes place at Skyhold.

My 'canon' WS is a Surana female HoF.  You can ask him about her and

Though I suppose that's available regardless of class of Inquisitor, I'm glad it was included if you had a mage warden.

For anyone curious there's also a fair amount of extra dialogue with Cullen if you romance him as a warrior with the templar specialisation.

Yes they ARE talking about your romance with Cullen.

After you kiss for the first time.

Female Noble: Would you have ever guessed such a parring?

Male Noble: Oh yes,  the lure of command....

After you sleep together:

Female Noble: We've reached the climax.

Male Noble: We're not the only ones!

Female Noble: Your awful!

Male Noble: They'll be sewing in Val R. even now.

Later on in the game

Male Noble: Has there been an exchange?

Female Noble: Of a sort.

Male Noble: Not that! Gifts? Betrothals?

They also will discuss what to wear IF a wedding does take place between your Inquisitor and Cullen. Then the Male Noble will say, "Careful, you'll distract from the happy couple."

I completely agree. It's incredibly satisfactory to romance Cullen as a mage. I find it very poetic that after falling for a mage, being tortured by mages and hating mages for a good portion of his life, he eventually finds love and happiness with one.

Excellent  :)

I've actually never triggered any of the 'noble gossip' before, so thanks for detailing! When does the discussion about 'exchanging gifts' and 'distracting from the happy couple' trigger?
