Hello
What is the best Spec. for a 2H Warrior in Nightmare?
Templar or Champion?
The answer is reaver.
no, ty the reaver is boring, so boring, reaver is not a fun for me
two hand as champion offers virtually nothing for the two hand playstyle, a few seconds of invulnerability and that is about it. Templar offers a damage buff and spell purge along with wrath of heaven for good damage against demons, but that is where it ends. While you can use a two hander with both skill trees you won't be getting as much out of either of them as reaver. Primarily your survival skills will come out of the vanguard tree in the form of unbowed (if you don't wanna get massive aggro) and you'd do well to put guard on hit on your weapon (or chance for hidden blades, which is my favorite) You may find reaver boring but all of it's skills feed well into the two hand playstyle for crazy amounts of damage that is only beat out by an assassin.
The reaver offers more offense while having good synergy with the 2H tree.
The champion offers a more defensive play style and you will be able to solo dragons with it. It will also be possible for you to tank but I would not recommend it.
The templar offers really good team buffs and completely destroys demons and rifts. It also has an occasional big burst that despite what some people say works on everything that can be stunned, it's just even better against demons. You will also require a tank companion with you at all times if you plan to play the game on anything above hard.
As for my personal experiences I found the reaver strong but kinda dull much like the Knight Enchanter. The reason I believe reaver is good is because it replaces the honestly terrible 2H rotation with the super strong Dragon's Rage.
I only tried the champion as S&S and honestly I had a blast with it however I'm not sure how it would fare as a 2H as I don't know how viable To the Death is going to be with a 2H (the only skill that makes the Champion interesting)
I found templar to be the best combination of offense and defense. The only thing that I thought was not good about the templar is the 2H tree it self as it is not all that powerful and my damage suffered a lot against enemies that couldn't be stunned. I ended up using only Mighty Blow from the 2H tree toward the end which is sad really.

have you a good reaver build for me?
I personally found dragon rage spam mind numbing and soul crushing. Honestly as a 2handed warrior we are kinda screwed. Reaver playstyle means no 2 handed skills, you still need 1 handed passives for turn the bolt, and the 20% frontal DR. Even then you still need guard and what not and honestly i would advice rather than going a reaver you are better served by just making an assassin. Reaver is a poor mans assassin at the end of the day.

Take everything in the Reaver tree (Rampage is up to you I didn't use it) take 2H left side till Guard Smasher (you might want to take Mighty Blow for the knockdown), Battlemaster till Coup de Grace, Vanguard take Challenge, Charging Bull, It Will Cost You and Unbowed+. If you still have points left take whatever you feel like I think the build should be complete by that point.
EDIT if you want to go with you as the only warrior in the group drop the battlemaster and take the right side in S&S tree till Turn the Blade. You will also need to drop Challenge for War Cry.

You really don't need that 20 percent dr, it's nice, but the point investment is not necessary if you stay on top of upgrading your gear, the reaver is pretty good at staying alive all it's own. A little variety would have been nice as far as two hand skills go, but it's still a pretty fun class, watching your health and making sure you don't kill yourself. Besides, it's a route to go especially if someone has played rogue already since rogues are OP one stop shops to kill anything in the game.
I love Reaver class but i found a 2H Reaver to be really squishy. Lot of damage taken and Devour is not enough
Also i don't like how ring of pain works.
And since i just played a rogue i don't want another character based on critical strikes
I will go back to the save when i choose the specialization to pick a Champion. More defense.
I will not need critical strike chance so i can craft things that gives strength and attack
Reaver=Critics=Battlemaster
Honestly i don't know if you do more damage with a build based on critics (you can raise only the chance, not the critical damage if you want to have a decent chance.....50%) or if you raise attack and strenght. But with battlemaster and reaver you get bonus from using critical stikes (Shatter armors, fear enemies,CD reduction, weaken enemies). So this is your way with a Reaver.
But being squishy you need to take the left side of Vanguard too because you NEED unbowed, the best talent for raising guard.
Champion doesn't need Battlemaster tree, you can take the right side thought to get some passive strenght and War Horn that has a good sinergy with taunt,Yes,as a champion you can taunt enemies because you have 20% more armor and you can make yourself invulnerable. When you have many enemies around you,use whirlwind and then war horn to disengage
hey for those of you who have played Templar, can you tell me if the passive abilities from 2 Templars (Cassandra and Inquisitor) stack?
e.g. There is no darkness gives 20% resistance if both Cass and Inquisitor have it or just 10%?
Yes templar abilities stack.
lovely...so I can have a Templar inquisitor and cassandra in the party ![]()
