It seems that reading with understanding is hard for some people.

Peace out.

I get what you were saying. If you took four newish players with below average gear and game knowledge, and dropped them in perilous, their best chance of success would be with keepers and elementalists. You are correct.

Quoting is your friend. It is a glorious feature offered by message boards, but not Twitter or Facebook, where using the '@' symbol is most prevalent.

Aside, you are speaking of taking a survivable class in Perilous where the PUGs are likely to die. I stand by my comments on the Necromancer, assuming you are a skilled player with an appropriate build.

Alistair is Dragon Age for me what Kaiden was to Mass Effect. I kill that whiney @(#% every time. Does that make sense to you now? B)

Leave Brittany (Kayden) alone! He's actually a beast in ME3 single player. :)

this thread has gone pretty deep so I won't speak much to that....I will say from 99% of the pugs I have met there is no way I would play perilous with them.

As more people play the game and more and more people get amazing equipment it will eventually be like "gold" is on ME3 atm, but for now if i'm not playing in a group I'm not playing it.

Above all else they need to give people a REASON to play it.  I guess if you friends want to carry you through and help you get levels ok thats a reason to play it....aside from that? There is none.  The minimal gold increase compared the time and you do threatening runs makes it worthless.  I have no plans on play the difficulty...unless I have a reason.  I've beat it a few times and thats enough for me.  I want loot!

I would hope they're just messing with you, and aren't actually saying that a new assassin player with130 dps daggers is just as viable on perilous as if that player were using a keeper.

If you have people with below average gear or game knowledge the chances of success are 0 regardless of the class because the keepers won't barrier the allmighty OP, Elementalists won't do better and their damage will be abysmal and Necromancers won't succeed even if they have Death Siphon.

Then the OP gives his sage advice to hypothetial underequipped noobs who apparently check this forum wondering why they were wiped on Perilious despite they were rocking those brand new Barbarian Lord Axes on their Reavers.

What is this thread supposed to be?

Warrior with a 2 handed weapon (Krogan Warlord)  That can use its own health to make its attacks and abilities crazy strong...at the expense of your life bar obviously, but also has the ability of stealing enemies hp and taking it as their own.

Well generally: When i join a game and see some people without titles and banners, i would take out my AW and helps them.

If i see some high level elementalist/keepers , i take some other class like archer, assasin, lego to grind another stats.

I disagree, I beat perilous with a group that was new and under-equipped a few days into multiplayer using two elementalists and a keeper. Fourth was arcane warrior I believe. We all had staves in the 50-80dps range, and I don't think I had found any accessories yet.

Due to the way Strength of Spirits' decay functions, using it is detrimental on the Arcane Warrior. Never use it and you'll gain twice the survivability.

Please elaborate...

When you reach full barrier, you'll notice the decaying starts after like a second compared to the instant decay when your barrier isn't full  So by having a larger barrier pool size, it would be a bit harder for the AW to reach full barrier.

I *believe* he's referring to decay. I asked this question shortly after release and never got an answer so I dunno if it works the way I think it does or not. Barriers decay at, from my understanding, 10%/sec. Since AW's generate barrier via damage that means you have to deal 50% more damage/sec WITH Strength of Spirits than without it in order to counteract decay.

They nailed it. Strength of Spirits just makes it harder to fill your Barrier and to sustain it. Hard enough that you won't be able to actually keep Barrier on high enough to be almost "immortal".

OP I would recommend rewording your post if you are trying to say what I think you are saying. You are getting a more negative reaction from some people because of you are putting that they are useless. I would say it is more an issue of the non-mage classes having a higher learning curve that means most random people in perilous that are playing them are most likely going to do badly compared to their mage counterparts.

how to pug perilous

  1. be sure to be as much of a try hard as humanly possible
  2. commit to carrying your team, but make sure to complain that you're the only one carrying your team
  3. pick the most over used and boring characters
  4. run past all the chests and gold pots because even gold on perilous is not worth your time
  5. arcane warrior.
  6. remember to get your mic on after you wipe and blame the rogues for it
