What kits are played poorly by a lot of people? (Krolord, Jugg, Spitfire AIU?)

What are your experiences in this area? What kind of kits are played poorly by lots of people? There are some kits that a lot of people - mainly Pugs - are poor with a lot of times. The Krolord is an easy pick for me. For those of us that Pug a lot, you will run into badass Krolords every now and then. When I see one in the lobby, I hold my breath. They are sync-magnets, for sure. But they also get downed a ton by Ravagers, Scions, and Primes. I very rarely see Pugs play a good Krolord. Granted, it's not the easiest kit to play, but bleeding out or getting synced left and right is just a little too much.

Aside from the Krolord, the Juggs and Volus kits are good candidates, as well. In both cases, it is surprising that people can't stay alive with these kits. As for the Volus kits, lots of people forget the cloak these kits posses, and they won't drop the aggro in key moments. Shield boost has a cooldown, too, so they mistime them a lot...which leads to way too many revives. Spamming Shield Boost doesn't really help your teammates, either. Weapons freeze up a lot, which can lead to tricky situations. Juggs are slow, and thus, a big target. It surprises me how many Pugs just stand there out in the open with two Ravagers with a clear line of sight on them. A Jugg is actually quite vulnerable when played poorly.

Lastly, I encounter quite a few poorly played AIUs. Not talking about Spitfire AIUs...that's a signature kit of mine. But just your general shotgun AIU. For some reason, they seem to die a whole lot, as if they're always out of grenades. This baffled me, to be honest.

So tell me, what are your experiences with poorly played kits by Pugs/friends/yourself?

Claymore AIU, surprisingly... I understand she's a shotgun infiltrator, but please, don't embarrass the Claymore.

GI. The only weapon he should be using is a Javelin.

Yeah, it's almost like people are bad with kits that have some sort of crutch power or high shields.

Haha, or Black Widow. But I usually encounter decent GI players. They contribute a lot, I think.

Disclaimer: I am not one of those bad***, can-solo-anything players and am exceedingly hesitant to talk about anyone as though I'm much (or at all) better.

That being said, I have to give this one to that Krogan Sentinel with the hammer. I just finished my third match in a row with the same guy (lvl 18) in the party, and this particular individual was the founder, governor, and representative of sync-kill city for ALL THREE GAMES!!!! We went Reapers, Cerberus, and Collectors, and just "Teammate has gone dark" wave after wave after wave just the same guy. I saw almost every possible kill animation.

Again, I'm not saying I'm a godly-good player or whatever, but dude... at some point, doesn't the definition of insanity come into play? You're doing the EXACT same thing over and over and expecting something different to happen. You don't have to melee everything, they offer shotguns. Wouldn't logic say you would eventually figure out "hey, maybe I should try a new tactic," or "maybe this character isn't so indestructible." I admit that I can't play well with Krogan and thus why I don't play as them, but it seems like a fair number of people I play with seem to think he is immune to syncs...

But I digress. To OP: Krogan Warlord Sentinel.

The concussive shot-spamming assholes on Praetorians, they are definitely doing it wrong and make me sad and annoyed.

Geth Juggernaut by far. With him, the majority of PUGs I meet use his heavy melee as their first and main attack.

Just FYI, there are two Juggernaut kits: the Juggernaut and Puggernaut. DO NOT mix them up as it is punishable by death in the empire.

Moving on from obvious targets like jugg, worlard and sexbot... I don't think I've ever seen a pug use Asari Adept or Quarksman particularly well.

The best AA puggers just seem to be able to take out mooks one at a time with Stasis headshots, but that's pretty much it. Never seen them deal quickly with multiple opponents at close range.

Quarksman is a headshot machine that can take out a mook spawn in seconds with mediocre weapons. Have I ever seen a pug do that? Nope.

Ah yeah, thanks for mentioning the AA pugs. Stasis all the armored targets on the map!

If we're going by the numbers, then definitely the TGI (mostly with the Harrier.)

There's one in at least every second lobby that I play, and they are rarely played well. I see poorly played TGIs more than KroLords (which I rarely see at all) or Juggys (which, in my experience, are usually reliable for an average or mediocre performance, putting them way ahead of a lot of other kits.)

Yeah, but pugs who GI usually can't Javelin either.

Also, Talon, Hurricane, Claymore, Raider, Black Widow, Venom, etc....

Claymore AIU

Most pugs I see that are smart enough to shotgun with the AIU are competent enough with her regardless of which shotty they choose.

However, the Claymoar deserves better than "competent".

I don't think I've ever seen a pug use Asari Adept or Quarksman particularly well.

Yes, because Pull on an Atlas is doing so much damage, and the Quarksman/Harrier causes even more frequent ammo box intimacy.

My pick for most poorly played kit is the Paladin. It's as cheesy a kit as the game has to offer, even without spamming Snap Freeze every 5 seconds, yet randoms can't seem to put together the powers fast enough to rifle off the explosions that the kit is capable of. Yes, the Melee Paladin works, but most randoms don't do that properly either.

It's rare I see a Paladin that's played with style. Tis a shame. There are so many tricks with that omni-shield that people just never really bother with in favour of snap cheesing all teh things.

I'm not talking about Justicar. And Harrier isn't a bad weapon on a Quarksman at all, MM still makes it more ammo efficient (accuracy + headshot damage) - I never use that combo though.

I hardly ever see vanguards utilized effectively in pugs.

my number one vote goes to the krogan warlord. yes warlord, run straight up to that proterian with full barriers/armor and melee it to kill it. oh, what's that? you didn't kill it in one hit? and now it's got you in a sync kill? too bad.

other honorable mentions go to paladins, juggernauts, volus, and slayers.

Then with the vanilla Asari, Stasis on Brutes. Same premise: misuse of powers.

And I suppose I was saying that about the Quarksman because it's the only weapon I see pugs use on him. I'm sure you and other beastly players make it sing, but pugs can't.

Watching any kit in this game being played badly really does hurt me to my soul. I just want to message them and be like "fall into my bosom, let me show you the way..."

...but no.

To be honest, seeing Quarksmen at all is a rare occasion...

TGI and Slayer. They come in, they quickly die (or score not as good as they though they would be), they don't gel and then they leave. It's lucky if none of the squadmates put themselves in the harm's way by that time trying to help those tryhards. Krolord and Sexbot deserve an honorary mention too.

But indeed it's the kits not played to their potential that are painful to observe and unfortunately you often see this with Asari kits.

P.S. I do want to put a word in for the new players, there seems to be a bit of influx of them too which is good. I don't care if they seem out of their league in the gold matches (for now) in their freshly painted sure-win kits and will do my best to revive them and or clutch here and there that is as long as they're trying to be helpful and are there to learn something new

P.P.S. As for myself, dodge-less melee builds (Batarians and Krogans) do give me a bit of grief, with ragegelling and an occasional stab from a Phantom, mostly during first games while still getting hang of them again. Or when I decide to go AM on them. In public lobbies tend to play conservatively to gauge if there are competent players first, whereas with the lot from my FL well... they all have huge backpacks and can go berserk early on which makes it fun

The Warlord and Juggernaut take the cake on this

Warlords because they don't seem to have a backup plan, Juggy's because they think that that melee will kill everything quickly enough

my most recent Gold Match featured a Puggernaut who learned that heavy melee won't save you from 2 Banshee's Two Brutes and the people's elbow
