Meh, I may not be the biggest fan of feminism out there, But holding a door for a woman is patriarchal to me. It portrays that females somehow require a softer treatment. But that's just my opinion.

The problem is that 99% of the time you don't have enough information to make that call just because somebody held a door open.

I'll usually hold doors open for everybody because it's polite. That doesn't mean I think women need some kind of special treatment.

I hold the door for everyone. If I'm about to go through one and there's at least one person relatively close to me who's about to do the same thing, I'll keep it open for them.

Whether they're men or women is completely irrelevant.

Good point. Well, If you hold it open for everyone, That's fine, No argument here. I'm just saying that women don't need special treatment.

I try to be polite and hold the door open for most people. I think its just being polite.

I do like when someone (male or female) holds it open for me just because its a sign of being polite. I don't get the whole thing women getting mad at men who hold the door open for them, Its harmless and they are just being nice. Its better than them letting it slam shut when your arms are full of groceries or holding a kid for goodness sake!

I hold open the door and just as I get a thank you or a smile I let the handle go and let it hit em in beak.   I then SMIRK!

Being human is more important, rather then keeping with gender roles or ideas.

Feminist today annoy me, i use to support them.thats a whole other debate.and one i will not get into, it would be beating a dead horse.thats just dust and dried up blood

but for the shake of topic.

Being a man to me:pretty much being human, doing what needs to be done whether others agree or not.Holding doors open for anybody.Helping an elderly person at the supermarket when they are reaching for something or need to pick something up thats too heavy for them.being an Ahole when it calls and being a saint when one should be.not taking anger out on someone just because one is having a bad day.Shaving or being lazy and letting the facial hair grow, its not manly having a beard.its just a beard.taking care of the woman that the man is with and staying true, including not flirting or anything more. And when the niece or daughter want to play tea and princesses the man sucks it up and plays along.the list could go on and on.but thats it

Most of these i do naturally without thinking of it, because im a human before a man.and the others took little bit of time.yes i played tea time with my niece, helped raise her since she was an infant to three years old.that makes me hell of a man for admitting it  B)

Personally I think its more of a standard 'Not Me = Evil' thing channeled into a semi-popular direction.

My man parts are very sinister.

It has transcended to "evil white cis male" which is totally unfair

I find your post triggering... i now have PTSD.

Give me mony.

OMG what is this trigger word bullsh*t?

In the USA some universities some students won't attend some law classes, especially things like criminal law where they discuss rape as that would have trigger words that set them off?

What's wrong with the world?

Held a door open for a guy today, and I got the most pleasantly surprised response I've received in a while.

I like it when men open the door for me. And if they want to look at my ass while doing it... well who am I to stop them.
