I can't agree with that or we (everyone) will always being living in a "might makes right" world. I hope you can see how this might not appeal to some people.

 

I will give you an example to what I'm trying to say. Most people nowadays are complaining about the Oscar nominations because they were no black nominees. But it doesn't work that way, You can't just pick 5 black nominees and 5 white nominees, You pick who are worthy of getting picked. Equality of opportunity. Most of these people forget that "12 Years a Slave", The movie that got 3 Oscars last year and 9 nominations, Was about a slavery, And The Director was black,  And the lead actor was black. And it won best picture and best actress.

The difference is characteristic, It's up to you to decide it. Society's treatment of you should be the same though. It's the job of society to create an environment open to opportunities to all sides. It's not society's job to show others how to treat you.

 

Then you do not understand what society is.

I agree totally. There should be no quotas as far as I am concerned. Work, awards should be on merit. That being said how do we fight classism, racism and sexism? How do we prevent all the haves from preventing the mass majority of have nots from being trampled on?

 

Tho I completely hate the quota system as it encourages mediocrity and punishes those who have done better.

Its a messy taco, with a bunch of fixings,meat and other fillers.now sometimes the ingredients dont get along, or with your stomach for the matter of speaking.but at the end of it.the taste was worth it but now your ass is checking taste your mouth wouldnt cash......

Well, You have to the societal system to blame for that. And that's a much larger topic.

That assumes that they are different.

 

Society sets "norms" that should be followed. How to act, how to treat people, how to raise children, what is acceptable, what is not acceptable, how to treat people that do not follow said norms, gender roles, etc. People are immersed into these norms the moment they are born. 

 

That is what society and culture is.
