Viv. Too condescending and rude.
Everyone's most hated character apart from Sera?

For DAI its Vivi hands down; frankly she even edges out Loghain, Anora and Morrigan whom I detest - despise if I'm being ruthlessly honest. I'd happily murder knife all of them. Sera while very juvenile has grown on me after Trespasser, and Solas whom I previously didn't mind really annoys me. Almost as bad as the living whine Anders from DA2.
I suppose because they are all manipulative and incredibly duplicitous self serving s#&%s.

All Vivienne has to do is hurt a few companions' feelings justifiably, move a low approval Inquisitor's things around, and support the Circle and she becomes the most hated companion in Dragon Age.
My fav doesn't deserve this fandom tbh. ![]()

Well. There is no cure for obvious bias, i'm afraid. Even I suffer from it. But Viv does not even bother to consider alternate views and that go outside what is "proper".

Why mention Sera as a most hated character? She was one of my favorites. My most despised character in DAI was Thom Rainer aka Blackwall... and the entire Orlesian court. ugh.

Justifiably is spelled correctly. Unless you mean she's not justified, then I'd have to disagree. She doesn't trash talk without cause and eventually warms up to some of the companions, even just a little for Cole.
Yes. But oddly enough, I recall few others considering alternate views like Dorian being pro-slavery and all the MANY other pro-Circle companions and yet the fandom doesn't seem to care as much. ![]()

Because the warden isn't a pup he had to stop with that unplesant word a young dog is a pup not a person.
You don't call a 19 years old famous person who won several tournaments in the nation a pup in front of everyone else it is not affection to me is a form of humiliation.
Factoring in how much the Fereldan's love dogs and you're the youngest kid, it's definitely meant to be an affectionate nickname rather than humiliating.
I mean, we are talking about a nation that love dogs so much, they not only let them sleep in the same room, but don't even bother to kick them out when they want to get busy with someone. Giving their kids a nickname like "Pup" is hardly the weirdest thing about the Fereldan people.

Alternatively, I thought I was going to love Sera and Vivienne. Because I love all things Elfy and Magey. Well....you can all guess how that turned out.
Sera is as anti-elf as it gets and acts deliberately ignorant to the point of being insufferable after some main quests. Her party banter, however, is very enjoyable. So I do often take her with me. Especially when I can rub things in her face. So I kind of have a love-hate thing going on with her. Because in my latest playthrough, I somehow did become friends with her for some magical reason and while I wasn't really impressed by that roof scene, I do really like her first scene in Trespasser.
Vivienne is another love to hate/hate to love character for me. I mostly enjoy her bitchiness because it suits her. Especially when she trumps Sera in party banter. I can not, however, condone her goal of having the Circle restored just because she wants to lord over the mages in said Circle. I mean sure, when I play a non-mage I possibly could eat up her reasoning for wanting this. But her unwillingness to accept the fact that as far as Circles and Circle mages go, there are very, very few mages who enjoy the same freedom and perks as she does. Or even acknowledging the fact that abuse might be a common thing in other Circles.
Anyway, getting a bit carried away here. I don't actively hate anyone, but Sera and Vivienne are my least liked characters. Well, there's also Bianca of course. I wouldn't have minded her idiotic jab at the end of that quest as much, if I had been able to at least retort.

Yeah, a good many characters I thought I'd adore before the game wound up being ones I didn't like or felt sad/neutral towards, while characters I thought I'd dislike were ones I liked.
For example, before the game, I was all set to adore Sera, Iron Bull, Josephine and Varric. The first one makes me mad, the second two neutral, the last one sad. (The man who never met a stranger treats you like one all game.) I also thought I'd hate Cassandra, Cullen, and Dorian (holy warriors and Tevinter) and Cole the demon serial killer, yet they wound up being Lavellan's closest friends and adoptive son. Go figure.
The only ones I was right about was that I figured I'd like Solas (actually wound up loving him), feel neutral toward Blackwall, and hate Vivienne. Lo and behold.
But seriously, Vivienne is the worst. Spends as little time as possible in the Circle, then calls other mages selfish for wanting to leave. If the Circles are so great, Vivienne, why don't you go live there?

Blackwall. Didn't like him at the beginning and it only got worse. I was kind of disappointed I couldn't cut off his head during the judgment when he started complainining about how he got out of prison.
Though Sera... I found her incredibly annoying at the beginning but she kind of grew on me.

I dislike most of the characters. Most of them are bland and shallow. While Dragon Age 2 had many faults, character development was vastly superior. I enjoyed Blackwall, Dorian, Vivienne, and Varric enough, but the others were bland. Once I could I dumped Cassandra. I found Lelianna and Josephine more interesting than many companions.

It's interesting how little the Vivienne hate brigade are willing to allow her, everything she says and does must be interpreted in the worst possible way. As though there weren't already enough reasons to dislike her we have to also pretend that she is basically Hitler. ![]()
Anyway, I don't hate any of the companions. I guess I would say I liked Blackwall the least though.
I also kinda hated Fiona, which sucks because I really don't want to hate Fiona. Why did they have to make her into such a weak idiotic character?
