There are already some threads about this but I just saw Aaryn Flynns post on Neogaf and figured we needed a thread where all the fans can post their ideas for a remastered Edition

Please be realistic folks I read something about a complete overhaul of Priority Earth and ME3 combat for the previous games, with wishes like that you will be disappointed for sure

Its very strange that Aaryn Flynn didn't post something like this: http://www.neogaf.co...&postcount=3216 here..

Apart from better graphics and all DLC's (which if it happens is a sure thing) lets also think about smaller improvements that wouldn't require too much effort (was just thinking about a ME2 like scene before the final mission if the one you romanced isn't on the Normandy for whatever reasons)

What do you think? Hopefully the folks at Bioware will read this and if a remastered Edition happens use some of our ideas!

We have definitely addressed this pretty well in those other threads. I'll likely forget some things.

In addition to the things on Aaryn's list, I'd like to see a few mechanics brought into line with ME3, if feasible.

1. PLANET-SCANNING-- I hate it! Please tone it down. This is absolutely a make or break decision for me. I will not play ME2, my favorite in the series, if I have to use planet-scanning as is. I use a Save Editor on Xbox 360 to avoid it.

Just let me shoot one probe at the planet (as in ME3!), tagging it for a mining consortium, or whatnot, and give me the resources. I have a galaxy to save. I didn't sign up to go mineral prospecting.

Alternately, as a distant second choice, I'd recommend increasing by at least 1000% the mineral hauls. This would cut my scanning time by 90%, which I might be able to tolerate.

2. Divorce conversation options from the player's Paragon/Renegade score, as in ME3. Let us play the character we want to play without penalty and without massive investments in Persuasion/Intimidation, or using exploits to circumvent the restrictions.

3. Remove the Electronics/Decryption and Hacking/By-pass mini-games (as in ME3), replacing them with an "auto-success in all but the most critical situations. They get to be very monotonous and immersion breaking as the hours pass.

Leave ME1 as intact(no "new and/or improved" gameplay changes) and take a Halo Aniversary like approach that lets you switch between New and Classic graphics for ME1.

ME 2 & 3 are new enough that a graphics changeing system as above would be virtualy pointless, but all 3 should come with all DLC.

Other than that no improvements or changes needed.

ME 1 combat is what keeps me from revisiting that game. A complete overhaul may be unrealistic, bu it's what the majority would like to see. Better graphics are nice, but if the combat still sucks, I'd still skip it.

The Mako runs were a drag even though I had fun doing flips, jumping around and drivin off of high cliffs with no worry. Endless  annoying mountains to scale and those annoying, overly loud thresher maws who definitely need compression added to their audio roar.

I agree about toning down the planet scanning in ME 2, which I'm currently revisiting. It's a definite chore to keep your crew alive, rotating planets while keeping an eye on the sausage meter or waiting for a vibration before launching a probe. The whole process feels like subliminal intercourse without the payoff.

Scrap the weight limit handicap in ME 3 altogether. I get handicaps are necessary to maintain a challenge, but this can easily be compensated by ramping up the overall difficulty.

Last but not least, include a version of the Happy Ending mod or an Indoctrination Theory ending in ME 3 for fans who would enjoy that.

I'd buy it just with this. Anything else, bonus.

And why exactly? You already have all the DLC,and you can get HD textures and improved lighting from mods (minus the 10 minute loading in ME2 and ME3). Unless Bioware adds more content, cutscenes or anything new you would be literally paying a full price for a product that you already own, just so that you can play it on PS4/Xbox One.

Nice to see that PC snobbery is alive and well. I'm sure those that play the games on console love hearing about the mods that they can't apply.

Yes, I can play the games on PC, but I also play them on console - I have no problem paying for it again. I've already bought them on PC, PS3 and the 360 at various points. Given the amount of time I've ploughed into the games, I'm still well ahead of the value for money curve.

If you don't need a remastered version of the games, don't buy them.

The time to change or add things to ME3 has come and pass none of those things are going to happen.

@OP Bug fixes for all three games, improved textures and all the DLC would be an instant buy for me.

Here's a recipe for success:

1) Do not touch any of the game mechanics on any of the games. They are perfect as they are

2) Add improved textures and a chance to choose whether or not they're on.

3) All DLC should be included, naturally

4) Make EC-ending optional on ME3 (=you can use the original ending if you want to)

5) Have an option for transferring your ME3 mp manifest to the new game

6) Bring back weekly multiplayer challenges

7) Charge 70-100EUR for the whole package

8) Make insane amounts of profit

Much better shadows for Mass Effect 1

Remove power locks on powers in Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 (you don't need to know Cryo Blast to hack mechs!). Insert level locks instead, similarly to Mass Effect 3.

All DLCs, naturally.

Bug fixes - fix all the known bugs without creating more. That includes import bugs like Conrad Verner, cutscene bugs like invisible rock on Rannoch, disappearing Aria, missing scenes from Extended Cut if Leviathan is installed.

Texture improvements for clothing, environment and faces.

An option to reset powers in Mass Effect 1.

An option to reset ME2 squadmate powers in Citadel DLC (or have them start with no points).

The bare minimum would be all the games with all DLC with updated graphics and a seamless transition system from one to the next.

If they have any power to add anything I'd like a few cutscenes in Priority Earth showing our various war assets fighting. I'd be delighted if they did more but to be honest I would be suprised if they added any change at all in a collection like that.

Here's a recipe for success:

I wouldn't buy it for more than 70 euros (and I've seen the Master Chief Collection at 55 euros today). Except for a massive ending overhaul, then they'll get more money from me.

Remove the decryption mini game (especially ME1) and make it like ME3

Much better graphics/textures for ME1

Maybe add some cinematics that shows previous squadmates and other races fighting in Priority: Earth

Change the planet scanning of ME2 to how it is in ME3

Include all DLCs

Make the ME1 combat like ME3 (if possible)

ME1 is the only ME I still play and it is for it's so called "broken" combat and inventory. The only reason I would buy a remaster is so I could keep playing it now that X1 is out and 360 is going to be discontinued eventualy. I know I'm in a minority but all this "give ME1 ME3 cambat" talk is scary for my hopes of getting ME1 as is on X1. :( .

I don't really hate the combat in ME1 but I like ME3 combat alot more. It won't be a huge deal for me if they don't change it though. I just want them to remove that decryption mini game from ME1.

Adding cinematics to show some of our war assets shouldn't be that difficult they could also show our ME2 squadmates but I doubt that they would bring the voice actors back maybe use the cut dialouge for Priority Earth?

If this happens that would be great but its already unlikely and anything more (like being able to use ME2 squadmates in the last mission) or any sort of ending choices or overhauls is just too unrealistic sadly

Exactly. If they managed to create all those cinematics for the EC in less then 3 months (unless the EC was in production before ME3's release, which I doubt) they can do it again for P:E.

That also goes for remaking the map. How difficult would it be to just sit down, open the old ME3 tools and create new maps for London? And that's all we P:E remake enthusiasts would want.

I'm no game developer but I don't think it's simple as that, you have to factor in cost, the animations to make that cutscenes etc. not to mention adding all the DLC and improving the textures are going to be costly as well and I doubt Bioware are willing to pay more then they have to. As I said before the time to add anything to ME3 has come and pass so it won't happen.

Yeah, thinking they would add anything is silly. I made my own list above, but realistically we wouldn't see many changes.

Sounds and visuals could be upgraded. Glitches could be fixed. DLC could be incorporated. Save transfers could be made more seamless, perhaps. I doubt we'll get more than that.

Small numbers tweaks, such as vastly increasing ME2 mineral-scanning hauls would be easy, if they were willing to do it. We will assuredly not see new material. The existing assets would be getting an overhaul. The series would not be going through development all over again.

If they don't remaster ME1/ME2 combat with ME3's then I would rather not have a remaster and have all the effort go into the next Mass Effect.

If they do remaster the trilogy; This is what it needs for me to purchase (again)

1. Re-do ME1/ME2's combat with ME3's (ME2's shouldn't be difficult but ME1's would require a complete overhaul)

2. Updated graphics

3. All DLCs included

4. Bring the remastered trilogy to PC (I won't be buying a PS4/XBone)

OR

Just focus on the next Mass Effect game and I'll definitely buy it. I don't know about you but this is my preferred option.

i do not want higher rez textures in mass effect 1, i want completely redone textures. like in this mod.

and i want an inventory that sorts and stacks items.

last i would like traditional car controls for the mako. like R2 is forward and L2 is brake/back.

all the other stuff i want has been mentioned.

Not happening bioware clearly said they are done with anything ending related after EC.
