You need mods to make a decent looking Shep. Trouble is hardly any exist. I had to start making my own. They should put more complexion options in any remaster instead of rough, rougher and really rough.

I don't have problems creating male Shepards in ME3 without any mods. I then transfer the face code to ME1. Females are much more problematic to me.

That said, I'd definitely enjoy more variety in the Character Creation.

I mostly just don't like the head/face shapes (the noses aren't great either). They're all very squared or just bizarre and stretched (like the template used forone with the eyes stretched on the head). Sheploo has a more narrow skull, which is realistic to me. ME3 seems way better for custom Sheps, but then I have to slog through 2 games just to get there.

I made great looking Shepards and I played on the 360....

Then again I always made a dark skin Shepard with short black hair which always looked grounded in comparison to others who....try to hard.

Not my Shepard but here is an example:

CommanderShepard.jpg

Now that custom Shepard looks very decent to me.

That one is pretty cool. Kind of boy-ish to me, but it isn't hideous.

I spend too much time thinking about this type of thing but you're right. All the skulls are much wider than Sheploo or Kaidan. The one with the "best" noses is shape 5 but it is the widest and shape 1 is the narrowest but has really wide noses. I think shape 1 is supposed to be for (stereo)typically African American characters and the one with eyes so high they're on the forehead is supposed to look Asian but it's all a bit of a mess really. It's not like you can create  Tyson Beckford or Daniel Dae Kim with these seemingly race specific shapes. Then again the CC white guys are just as ugly so at least it's equality.

Edit: Got shape 1 and 5 round the wrong way.

Hmm..maybe that's what they're going for... Daniel Dae Kim.. but yeah, it's not good. What you get is Chairman Burns instead. lol

It's not bad at all. I think the CC was a lot more forgiving in ME1 and 2 when the characters didn't need to look as realistic.

I also make darker skinned Shepards but I guess not "black". I pick skin tone 2 and 1 is the darkest. It's still not very dark but much darker than I am in real life.

That is so wrong it's right. Maybe he's half batarian but never developed his other set of eyes.

Assumptions for what? Sheploo not being iconic or my point about racial influence in our decision to go default versus creating our own?

yes

I just want the Mass effect trilogy on my PS4 please. All DLC, upgraded graphics, nothing else too fancy!

I doubt they will do this but it is something that always irked me.

Harbinger is the perfect name for Sovereign. And Sovereign is the perfect name for Harbinger. And they are the wrong way around in the games

Agreed. I honestly hadn't thought of it until you said it though and now it's gonna bug me

I'd like all of the NPC outfits available as casual clothes for Shep on the Normandy in ME2 and 3. The little black dress from Kasumi's dlc available in mE3 (instead of the Allers binliner-swimsuit-thing). Some of the colonist outfits are decent, and much better than the fugly brown thing that is available. That wouldn't be so bad in a recolour though.

The locked off hairstyles in ME2 could be available. Iirc, that's Kelly's hair, a bob with a fringe, and  a messy bob. Just for a little more variety.

This stuff is already in the game, so it would be nice if Shep had access to it too.

It would be nice to see all three games revamped for a consistent and seamless play experience, but that might be too much work to really be worth it.  Plus some of the mechanics are baked into the story, like thermal clips vs. weapons cooling down on their own and there are lots of decisions about what to keep and what to toss out the airlock that will probably rustle some jimmies no matter what they end up doing.

As far as character appearances go, faces in these games have always looked terrible to me.  The modeled faces have this creepy uncanny valley quality about them and the generated ones just look blocky and lifeless.  A realistic art style just doesn't work for me when there's talking jellyfish and pint-sized biotic gods running around, though to be fair it has improved greatly over the course of the series and could be perfected over the next trilogy.

Also I think too many players will be looking toward the remake as a way to fix all the problems with the original series, especially the ending to ME3.  I don't think Bioware will be too keen to undermine their past work that way, and it would make this whole task far more complicated and messy.  And then when you actually start playing it and see that it's basic the same game that you've already gone through so many times, it just doesn't seem like it would be worth it.

One more thing I'd like (maybe some have thrown it out already) is a coop mode.  It'd be cool to play missions with my kid.

Co-op play would be kind of cool but I'm not really sure if it would work well since you have a lot of conversations and I'm sure your partner wouldn't want to sit and watch you flirt with Garrus for ten minutes, or discuss the genophage with Mordin in extreme detail.

Edit: Maybe local co-op could work, not online, but you'd also have to remove the tactical pause which is a very handy thing to have.

Edit: Edit: You know, I just thought about it a minute more, it would be fun if your co-op partner could take on the role of one of your two squadmates (where possible). Would be fun to play Legion or Jack.

Still there's a problem with tactical pause. You'd both be pausing and stopping the other from playing. Plus squad members are nerfed damage-wise compared to Shep and they have much longer cooldown times.

And like you said - what does player 2 do while you're not on a mission?

Doesn't MEMP have a function where you can set up an arranged mission so you're not stuck with randos? I don't play it myself.

Yeah it would have to be missions only...similar to COD.

Might be cool too to have a PvP mode associated with ME3 combat sim.

Better textures, bug fixes, and all DLC included are the minimums I would expect.

As for the "seamless" experience, I guess I would be looking for a single character creator capable of creating a character that would look the same across all 3 games. As it stands, the characters I've run all the way through look very different in ME3 than in ME1&2.

Other little gifts that would be lovely:
-- N7 jacket for femShep in ME3, and maybe an N7 PT gear set for both genders in ME2.
-- Unlock any other content available. Like same-sex romances for Kaidan/Ashley (if the voice is available), make all recruiting missions available at the beginning of ME2, that sort of thing.

I wouldn't expect much in the way of mechanics changes, but would request a couple specific to ME2:
-- Reduce the amount of resources required for research or increase the size of the hauls from scanning / probing.
-- Fix the P/R mechanics. As it stands, the bonus P/R points from an ME1 import are necessary for me to navigate the squaddie conflicts, so I've not been able to re-play a character from ME2. I always feel like I must complete all sidequests, never choose any neutral options, and try to build either paragon or renegade instead of the more balanced approach I typically take - which really restricts role-play.
-- I would also welcome an increase in thermal clip capacity. Scouring areas for clips after every battle is not my idea of fun gameplay.

Can I repeat a little thing I've mentioned a few times across the forum recently?

BioWare, or whomever's gonna do this remaster, throw this outfit (or something like it) on Diana Allers' character model.

I can get on board with everything you've said and all of it is reasonable but even though I really want it to happen, I can't see them unlocking Ashley/Kaidan for same-sex romances (K in 1 and Ash in 1&3) because it's part of their "story" now  :(

I always use that mod (thanks Ele), I can't even look at Allers in the white and blue pleather minidress anymore. Also fixes her hair
