So I read some things and one thing I found was only humans and dwarfs get scars in character creation, started a new game to find that is not true. It seems there are no scars on last gen which to me is just a terrible decision and kinda infuriates me.
No scars on last gen?

It's due to the shaders. Apparently the last gen consoles couldn't handle too many shader instructions. And before people come in here with "but xyz game had scars with no issue", no it isn't that simple. Scars are implemented in the skin shader that is used, and in order to implement the most realistic skin that you can with minimal performance impact you will have an enormous amount of shader instructions/nodes. The more you have, the more it wears on performance especially when it is used across multiple npcs. Integrating scars requires further nodes/instructions. The removal was undoubtedly part of the optimization for last gen consoles. You also have to remember that last gen hardware is very low. 256-512 mb of Vram is horrible. They had to make cuts in order to get the game to run as smooth as it can. This was one of them.

but as I recall this was never told to players beforehand; it may seem unimportant but that fact that last gen players ASSUMED their graphics wouldn't be as detailed as next gen. I doubt anyone thought the feature was going to be completely cut.

Honestly, it just sounds like you're whining. Be happy they even released the game for last-gen. I'm amazed they pulled even that much off.

Remember when the devs said that the only thing that was going to be missing from last gen would be NPCs? Good times.

I would have agreed with you if Lastgen version was free (or at least uses crossbuy feature). But it's not. Not a whining but a user's reasonable concerns with current state if things.Honestly, it just sounds like you're whining. Be happy they even released the game for last-gen. I'm amazed they pulled even that much off.

The lack of scars is hardly a reasonable concern. Visuals had to be scaled back in order to get this game to run. It's a miracle that it does given that the 360/ps3 hardware is largely (if not completely) under the minimum system requirements.
