Yeah I understand. When Mass Effect 3 ended the way it did, I think us loyal gamers were just wiped away. Five years of playing and planning out the window there. But, I still hope we get some storage and decent DLC for this game soon. At least some of the decisions I made in the past had some bearing on this game. When five years of gaming was destroyed in 10 minutes at the end of ME3, that was just criminal.

Something else, after several playthroughs I can say that by the time I finish up the Winter Palace, I'm feeling like I hope this ends. I'm not kidding, I'm ready to run through it and finish. I mean if someone is careful they can get all their cheevos in one run and be done with it. I wish we had more depth and character life. We do need some good DLC to help fix the rough edges and fill out the characters. Game on my friends.

I know, still no word. However, I played the multiplayer this weekend and ran into so many freezes, black screens, and problems that I am giving up on this game. There may be some future DLC's that might draw me back, but this game has left me scratching my head as to what BIOWARE was thinking. This game feels so unpolished and unfinished that at a certain point I just wanted to get it done and move on. My final analysis for this game is disappointment. I don't know how angry joe over on youtube could give this the top spot on his rpg games list for 2014. I honestly give it a 7 out of 10 and that's just because I love the series and did see the promise that this game had. This game needed about another 6 months to a year to grow and develop into something better, with better flushed out characters and better game stability on both the multiplayer and single player. The problems aside, there were critical components missing that would take a lot of work to fix. If I'm alone in my view so be it, but from the feedback I have read in these forums, I don't believe I am. Also I do have a right to gripe because I spent over 70 bucks on a deluxe edition on 360 and over 60 bucks for the xbox one version. This was probably my last preorder or new purchase for a long time. I'm renting or buying used from now on. I'm not going to help fund continued disappointment.

It's absurd that an rpg with limited inventory space and such well thought out loot tables that give you a helmet you can't equip until level 6 in the tutorial or a unique staff you can't equip for 6 levels a ace to store them.

Funny thing.. when you'll be at level 6 (or 11 or 13 since there is also stuff which requires those levels) you'll have already collected enough material and crafted something way better than everything you have in your inventory.

Do the disloyal gamers get a lump of coal?

I think a storage chest would be an awesome idea, and much needed.

It's interesting that these storage threads keep popping up. I'll keep on supporting them until Bioware comes up with a solution. Depending on that solution, I'll either be happy and keep on supporting this game, or I'll simply shut the door - should they choose to cross the line on milking the cow.

Loyal gamers get a six chest layout in Skyhold. Disloyal gamers get a chest in the fallow mire with a lump of obsidian in it. Right?

I can't believe there's no chest yet... I was expecting one after the first patch or something. They must have realized by now how big of a difference having a storage chest can make. It can't be that difficult. Does Bioware not care? They only want to release one that we must pay for? Or what?

I guess they're trying to introduce several features and fixes into the game, not only storage. Besides, they need to do this in 5 different platforms.

I'd be disappointed if next patch doesn't come with free storage.

Eh... I'm not quite sure if I'm loyal or disloyal. I certainly don't wish to be just a cow waiting to be milked. :)

make sure to put it as a downloadable add-on. Some of us like the balance of the current game. I don't need skyrim and I don't want hoarders in my castle. I don't need 6,000 of anything to move along. In fact, on 2nd playthrough, I've held on to even less. Any legitimate gripe with this game should be begging for story arcs to fill gaps. This post is utterly absurd.

In what way would a chest unbalance the game? Storage is an option waiting to be used or not, not a game changer. I just wish Inquisition had more of these options in order to better suit different playstyles.

By bringing a new batch of bugs features that would break the game ala mp Destruction dlc.

The game without it is lean... to push you along and force your hand. If you play so indecisively that you need to hold everything and look up every turn then that is unbalanced. I just read a post about a guy who wants search turned on permanently like a 360 degree flashlight. How ridiculous are you willing to become? I don't want it in my game. I like the lean nature of it's exclusion. it adds to all the other elements of the game and says, I'm not skyrim let's go ahead and play now. I think it just fine to keep it as a free dlc I don't want it. I think time better spent on giving me a place to sit and read within game or adding some story arcs that don't exist.

Adding every feature that players wish in the same bag of "badness" isn't that constructive, IMO. An option such as a storage chest - that happens to exist in DA2 from the get go - is completely different from a feature that everyone is required to use, such as the radar being permanently on (I find that not to be a good idea as well).

Storage is a matter of convenience and choice, not so much as hoarding everything I get my hands on, at least for me.

Having OPTIONS that allow a greater leeway for different play styles is better, IMO, than a more self-serving desire to keep everything as it is because it already suits the play style of a number of players. Twenty million Skyrim copies sold were due in great part to that game's ability to allow an optimal amount of playstyles. I'm not saying in any manner or form that Inquisition should be exactly like Skyrim. I'm saying that Dragon Age Inquisition has way too many gameplay restrictions, and that could be improved with the addition of better options that are not forced upon.

well in the short term you may be right but letting people control the creative direction of the game with non rpg elements ruins the series... So you may find it harmless, but that's what they said back when origins was re-released to console with controller controls... look at the aweful that spawns from making terrible decisions... I don't want you hi-jacking a story driven game and making fashion sense and hoarding a priority. You may call it a convenience but that one implementation opens the armor sims, the potion choices, the blah and blah and blah. Let the series be dragon age, ES and fallout haven't changed in more than 10 years it sits right there for you. It has brain washed people so badly they can't even play without a wiki. If they turn left or right they are petrified of losing something. While you may hold it in some lvl of responsible regard, it drives a nail in the coffin of the only true rpg experience available. Basically, you're in the same boat as Call of Duty players....you don't know how to do anything else anymore. Unless of course they implement everything so it's the same with a new skin.

If you think it was an "oops" moment like they forgot the infinite chest you're definitely mistaken. It was a creative decision. In my opinion the story was a little weak as a whole to carry it straight through, but still the element of story driven game was put to the forefront and cemented by giving you x amount of space.

Storage chest! I'd finally have a place to shove all those random items needed for the requisitions that like to live in my valuables folder....and accidentally get sold :/

they made those requisitions like that on purpose... so they couldn't be farmed. is it all becoming clear now... they are trying to light a fire under your butt to actually play.

In the past, lots of items have had interesting backstories to them. I recall a set of gloves you could buy in Denerim's market called "Katriel's Grasp" which was a direct reference to the character Katriel in the book 'The Stolen Throne'. I certainly didn't need to buy or keep those gloves, but I loved the fact that there was a story behind them, so I threw them in my storage chest. I don't know how many items in Inquisition also come with their own backstories, but I think it's reasonable that some people might play more sentimentally than others.

Wouldn't that be fun to have DLC that helped fill out the weird silent gaps in conversations the NPCs could have...

Have read your post twice now, and I still don't understand why adding a storagechest in DA:I will change the game into a ES-clone.

Played a lot of RPG's and most of them had a storagechest, which I always used for items who were so rare I didn't want to sell them. The only exception I can think of was Kingdoms of Amalur, in which you could collect legendary armorparts, which, when you had all four pieces gave a big boosts to your stats. So you kept them all in your chest, till you collected all parts and equipping the complete armor was wothwhile.

And: I love the ES, FO, ME, DA and The Whitcher series.

It just plays into the realm of collect the whole set and research choices based on reward. When they largely remove reward and places to keep them it only leaves choices... They surgically removed items from RPG... it's not something you can deal with. I makes you decide what to take and what to leave behind. It's a metaphor for the story and game as a whole. Just play and be the character. Holding onto everything is not a story focus. they want story focus. It's a distinction in the series.

I love them too... not because they do everything the same. If you offer yourself the opportunity to play with choices and not worry about inventory it's liberating. They are trying to define that as a strength to dragon age... on it's own 2 feet. So making a hit list to align the game with another series is draining... a lifeless process.
