Why would it be tied to your computer's clock? Have you ever played a game with a day/night cycle? That's not how it typically works...

 

Personally, I'm all for it. It somewhat boggles me that it's 2015 and we still have open-world games without day/night cycles.

 

Honestly? Pokemon, which is, and Sims, which isn't. I don't play a whole lot of different games, so I actually wouldn't know what the common interface for a day/night cycle would be!

So much this. The 50 minutes or whatever days in Skyrim make me nuts and, like many other things about open world systems, slap me in the face over and over with how fake they are,

As said above : just open the console and type "set timescale to 1" and voilà, you've got yourself a 24 hours-long day.
