Hi everybody,

I play as a rouge archer i'm level 17. For my skills i use every active perk from the Archery tree (Explosiv shot upgrated). In sabotage tree i got the line up to "look like it hurt" and the line to "fighting dirty". For the sabterfuge i got the left tree only for the "ambush" because i love it to initiate fights with a full draw coming from stealth. But now i got the Tempest specialisation because the other ones were just meh. Anyways when i looked at it i realised that i only had one slot so i have to decide between fire or stormflask. I have 1 active skill from the sabotage (poisen), 4 from the archery 1 stealth and the focus ability.

Would be cool if someone would give me some critics for my build in general or tipps if there is any need to run 2 different flasks (playing on hard)

PS: sry for basic english it's not my mother language.

Oh, I don't know...

I don't have any spells, so playing a game where I have 8 is... an infinite increase. Or divided by zero. Or something.

If you do not have anything to add other than pointless snark do not bother posting. Btw OP yes i agree 8 is kind of limiting, problem is also that we limited in mana/stamina so having more abilities is also pointless as we do not have the resource to use it. For Archer  tempest you have to choose as 3 taken by your flasks, i think you can sacrifice frost flask since you are an archer. 1 taken by thousand cuts, 1 by stealth. 5 already gone, now since you want poison weapons there goes another. So choose you two archery skills. Poison weapons will work better if you go lightning and auto attacks.

Honestly you will have to decide if you need a slot for frost flask and then choose 2-3 archery abilities at best.

The focus abilities are OP. One way to free up slots and keep encounters interesting is to just throw focus skills out the window.

Tempest is the spec that suffers the most from the 8 slots limitations, but however it is also true that something like a Tempest DW build being allowed to use as many slots as desired would be completely insane (too powerful).

P.S: How can you say that something like Assassin spec is "meh" is beyond me, seriously, especially for an archer PC (where Tempest doesn't shine as much).

Along with non customizable skill AI, being limited to just 8 skill slots are two of my biggest complaints about the game.

Rogues with looked like it hurt and stamina amulets can take advantage of more than 8 skills. I cant even use stealth on my tempest because of flasks+evade and various bow skills.

Towards the end of the game you start looking only at passive skills because you cant even equip active ones anymore.

This is my plan for my archer playthrough, based only on MP experience with the rogue trees, where you only have 4 ability slots (!!!!).

Active ailities in order of importance:

Tempest:

  1. Evade
  2. Long Shot (Upgraded)
  3. Leaping Shot
  4. Flask of Fire (Upgraded)
  5. Flask of Lightning (Upgraded)
  6. Stealth
  7. <Open>
  8. <Open>

Assasin:

  1. Evade
  2. Long Shot (Upgraded)
  3. Mark of Death (Upgraded)
  4. Hidden Blades (Upgraded)
  5. Leaping Shot
  6. Stealth
  7. Knockout Bomb
  8. <Open>

Interesting passives: Dance of Death, Looked like it hurt, Cheap Shot, Ambush and Mercy Killing.

OBS! Note that the Archers Lance upgrade doesn't look like much on paper, but the AoE range of this thing absolutely insane. Not just hitting enemies directly in front or behind the main target. It cleaves like a dragon's swipe. And that's not even counting when it works as detonator.

Focus Skills takes to long to charge up imho, not worth a slot. Use them for abilities you can utilize in 80% rather than 2% of combat situations.

Possibly if Poison Weapon + Explosive Toxin works with Archers Lance it would be worth a slot, otherwise why bother, poison doesn't stack last time I tested it.

Full Draw: Looong cast time, looong duration, not worth it. Well SP encounters have alot more time in between its battles, so perhaps it's not as worthless as in MP.

Explosive shot: loong cast time, low dmg, low CC duration. It takes just about the same time to cast as they spent time on the floor. Knockout Powder would probably be better.

I need like 30 ability points for these archer builds, I feel more limited by points than active slots.
