MESSAGE POPULAIRE !

I'm reading about things that people want added or corrected in the game, not bugs or fixes as such, but "minor" things, and I thought I'd make this list. Please feel free to add and I'll update it as it grows.

People's assumption is that these things should already have been in the game, so the demand is for a FREE DLC that will address these issues.

~~~
Edit: The list has now started to get pretty big. That's not a bad thing, however, not everyone will agree or care about all of the issues listed. However, these are issues that quite a number of people have mentioned, so they are included, whether all agree or not.
~ CHARACTER CREATION ISSUES ~
1. HAIRSTYLES / HORNS / BEARDS / EYEBROWS - Most people have had enough with the crop cuts for women and the buns for men. Not to mention there's an entire horde of Qunari players screaming their guts out for some livable hairdos. More hairstyles for all, and a SEPARATE horn - hair slider for Qunari. The hairstyles don't necessarily need to be entirely new, just unlock the meshes for the ones already in the game. Anora's hairdo, Cassandra's hairdo, and so on. It's just silly for NPCs to have elaborate beautiful hairdos and the high and mighty Inquisitor going around like a back alley urchin from Orzimmar. Even though many people request new hairdos, even a few of the existing ones will do. The same goes for beards, those beards are awful, hands down. Bring back the wonderful dwarven beard braids from DA:O, and please fix the "hover-beard". Lastly, some people complain about the eyebrows all being bushy.
2. INDEPENDENT COLOUR CHOICE FOR HAIR-EYEBROWS-BEARDS - Just cause we're really disagreeing that black bushy eyebrow looks good on a ginger mage. Let us choose. Also please have a true black option.
3. BETTER CONTROLS AND LIGHTING FOR CC - Many people complain that the lighting and position of the head in CC isn't the same as what you get in the game itself, it's too dark and you end up overdoing the makeup to compensate.
4. BRING BACK FACECODES - Include facecodes as they were used in ME3, so we can create an Inquisitor we like, jot the code down and not have to go through the entire painstaking procedure again at guesswork.
5. THE DREADED PAJAMAS - There's even an entire thread in Reddit about why the heck we're wearing pajamas in Skyhold. Good question! Once again, the mesh is there, you only have to unlock it, and the Inquisitor can walk around in their armour. Or just make an actually cool attire, how hard can that be? Check out some swashbuckling images, and you can find some good unisex attires, if that's your problem that you don't want to make an individual attire for females and males. But please, no more baby-puke-coloured pajamas!
~ INVENTORY & PREVIEW ISSUES ~
6. CHARACTER ZOOM IN PREVIEW - Please allow us to actually zoom in to see the characters in close up when entering inventory or skills mode.
7. INDIVIDUAL HIDE HELMETS - People want to be able to hide the single attrocious mage cap, but be able to see the Qunari's Vitar, for example.
~ TOGGLES [ON/OFFs] ~
8. WEAPON SET TOGGLE - Also speaks for itself, allow us the option to switch between two sets of weapons, not only for rogues dual/bow but for the rest as well.
9. WALK/RUN TOGGLE MODE - Some people don't like running everywhere. Can't blame them. It'd be nice to have, for immersion purposes.
10. TAVERN SONGS/CHANT OF LIGHT SUBTITLE TOGGLE - Whenever you enter the tavern, regardless of who is talking and what they're saying, all you get to read in the subs is the song of the moment. Songs should be background noise, not accentuated like that. We miss what other people say this way. The same goes for the Chant of Light. Mercy, we know that one by heart by now three games down the line.
11. COMBAT GFX TOGGLE - Some people have a real issue with the dazzling and confusing graphical effects of combat abilities. For matters of Ease of Access, please enable a toggle mode for those effects.
12. CRAFTING SCHEMATICS STATS COMPARISON - So we don't have to reload after we spend five minutes making some piece of junk that we thought would be better than the found armour we got on, but in the end isn't. Make it a toggle for additional info at pressing a certain button.
~ ADDITIONS ~
A brief explanation here, I am aware that there are heaps of things that should be added to the game, including Halla mounts, Dalish decors, Inquisitor’s quarters functionality, Skyhold improvements, Harding as a romance option, and ofc weapons and armour. I am PURPOSEFULLY not including those also much needed additions on the basis that they require additional coding and/or programming, and not because they shouldn’t be added. I am only including a couple of additions the codes for which are already there.
13. STORAGE CHEST - Speaks for itself. Given the fuss after DA:O for not being there and being introduced as DLC, and after DA2 which had a storage chest from start, now we're back to not having a storage chest somehow. Why? Go figure. Now, get back to your senses and put the storage chest back in. You could fit an army down at the dungeons, but hey! I can't find anywhere to put my mace!
14. MIRROR - There's various mirrors around Skyhold, it'd be the easiest thing to make one actually functional. Remember the Black Emporium mirror? Yes, that one. Enable past-CC customization in other words. Also not horribly difficult to code.
15. SALVAGE GEAR INSTEAD OF DESTROY - Some people have informed me that in multiplayer you have the option to not destroy any gear that exceed the inventory limit, but salvage them for mats instead. Please add this to single player as well, the mechanics are already there.
~ GAMEPLAY FUNCTIONALITY ISSUES ~
16. PAUSE CINEMATICS - It'd be nice if we could pause a cinematic sequence when that damn phone rings or when someone in the immediate environment starts screaming and shouting. Just saying.
17. NAMED SAVES & UNLOCK SAVE LIMIT - It'd be nice for us to be able to actually distinguish between one Skyhold save and the five consequent... Also, nobody has figured out the reason behind the 250 max saves. Most people have multiple characters and multiples saves.
That's the list as I can think of it, there's probably other issues as well, and as I said, feel free to add any other minor additions you'd like to see implemented in a free dlc below, and I'll update it.
I am specifically not mentioning bugs, fixes and crashes and major issues. Just some minor, cosmetic, aesthetic, functionality, environment related issues that manage to vex too many players.
If you're looking for COMBAT & STRATEGY bugs and related info, this thread is a good informative place to go: http://forum.bioware...k-compilation/
I agree that it would be good to have those as free DLC. But I would contend that implementation of fully customisable tactics takes complete priority over all of those. So, you know, combat is actually enjoyable.
Let's not get into this "whose is bigger" fight, please. Because I would also contend that priority should be given in that case to fixing the game for people who can't even play it, namely a large portion of the old gen consoles. It's useless to get into this argument. I'm just posting, as I said in the beginning, some MINOR, aesthetic grievances that have pissed off most players, I'm not prioritizing.
And just as I was to like you. Calling 'bobcuts issue' a minor grievance is a major understatement and an offense.
That's actually a money back situation. They should refund everyone on previous gens beause frankly, this game is clearly not designed to be able to run on anything but new or at least not very well. They just did it for the money without considereing that it would run like crap. They should fully refund everyone who has it on old gen since it's likely it will never be able to run well on old gens as it was designed for new gens.
Heck I have a one year old gaming rig that can't run this thing because the specs are apparently still not good eough though they meet the standards. My rig beats out all the old gens by miles. There's just no way it could run on old gens well at all.
Thank you for that, you're one of the few people who understand what we old gen-ers are on about. As I've said numerous times, they should never have released it for old gen consoles, straight up. Would have saved alot of people grief and heartache, and themselves quite a bit of bad publicity.
I bought a PS4 for this damn game realizing that there was no way it would be able to run well on a xbox 360 if it was released on the next gen which was their primary target. But because next gens still aren't all that common (actually the seem pretty rare like people are going to wait a good two or three years before getting them) BW decided that they wanted the best of both worlds. Irony is that they should have just spent more time on developing the game so it could be an excellent game on one generation rather than a mediocre one on two. The whole thing is just a money grab. This is not a previous gen game. It was just 'adjusted' to be one much as the PC version is a console port. They simply went for the next gen market then 'fixed' what they could to get it on old consoles and PCs. It's quite evident that both these secondary markets were not their primary consideration and basically were money grabs.
We all suspect you're right. Especially after finding out that specific things have been removed from the old gen games for the game to fit (see scars in CC), cause it's memory dependent and it was a "really tight squeeze" as a dev twitted a while back. I'm hoping to get an xbone soon, and I'll be handing in the xb360 version, cause it's ridiculously bad.
But it seems that overall they didn't do quite as good a job as they could have, see the list up there. These are minor things that you'd think were self-evident that need to be included, and yet... here we are with baby-puke pajamas.  :blink:
Tbh that pyj looked quite nice on my expressive and sensitive female elf Inquisitior. Some morals to question tho.
The Inquisitor's clothes (pajamas), hairstyles, and changing of appearance can very well be monetized. They're not that essential and BioWare needs the cash flow to continue to support the game, having an insane amount of 5 platforms to deal with. Developers tied to a corporation are pretty much slaves to monetizing needs and I don't think the money scheme in multiplayer is considered to be enough.
Having said that, they should create goodwill towards players which are rightfully upset over game breaking bugs and poor PC controls. This will in turn make said players/customers more inclined to continue to support the game by way of paid DLC - and free multiplayer addons are certainly not enough to create goodwill given the money-grabbing scheme attached to them.
The storage chest is without a doubt an essential free implementation, and the OP made an excellent overview on why this should be the case. Its absence is aggravated by the fact that there's no modding tools to balance a premium addition.
#1: I disagree that they should simply unlock existing hairs & beards. No free passes. Unlock and include some new ones. Put some effort into it.
#8: can they even do this? I doubt it, without some serious code modification. It would be cool if they could/did.
Please fix / improve tactics.
Please do not make any of these request "paid" DLC. Damage control Bioware.... Damage control.
New content as paid DLC? Sure, but fixing glaring issues should be free.
These would be my most urgent "minor" issues at the moment. Storage Chest should be obvious.
About the mirror: You just don't see your character from all angles and in all different shades of light in the prologue.
To have an idea what your character looks like in almost all circumstances you really have to spent a lot of time in the game.
And when you discover that you put on a little bit too much make-up on your guy... You gotta stick with it or start all over :P
To be fair, I haven't managed to reach endgame because of my stunning xbox360 graphical issues the game has, so I don't know what state Skyhold is in when you're deep in the game. Can anyone else provide some more info?
You'd have a complimentary DLC in the origin client whereas a patch gets installed without pomp and circumstance.
Marketing? Marketing!
Then free DLC is better, isn't it? Isn't choice always better than no choice?
Sometimes people can't make a right choice... :) So it's debatable.
But I'd prefer a free DLC.
