You don't really have to spoiler tag that kind of stuff here.

Anyway, Dorian explains it in that same dialogue -- whatever familial connection that he and the human Inquisitor share is so ancient that it's not worth worrying about.

Don't know about you or where you live but place where I live incest is incest!

It doesn't matter is it cousins or whatever or how distant they are...it still considered to be incest.

Most of the nobility is distantly related.

This isn't incest, incest happens when you have sex with close relatives.

It doesn't fullfill the definition of an incest.

I doubt it. Most people in one country have at least one common ancestor.

If you want to get THAT technical, either we all ultimately came form the same speck of cosmic life that became the first amoeba or, we all came form the same first two humans anyway. Beyond 2nd cousin does not qualify as incest. If distant relation counted, we'd all be guilty of that one.

The connection is practically ancient. It was quite a few generations ago.

They aren't even really cousins.

This. The reason as to why lactose intolerance is considered an allergy where I live is because our ancestors got a genetic mutation that made us produce the ensyme to be able to break down the lactose sugar even as adults. The reason why its so spead out is because of "incest" as you would call it. Heck I think most of us here share a common ancestor down in africa way way waay back so I would watch out for any relationship with anyone if your that sensetive about it. http://en.wikipedia....tochondrial_Eve saw an intresting documentary about her awhile ago actually.

Most likely distantly related as was normal for noble families in Europe or at least larger countries such as France or Holy Roman Empire. England and eventually UK also.

No wincest in Inquisition.

1. It was hundreds of years ago, and likely not even direct relatives way back then either.

2. It's very possible it could simply have been a "through marriage" deal, meaning they would be even less related.

Either way, there are a lot of people in modern times who are related in that manner and wouldn't even know it, particularly if they're from smaller countries. It's really worth worrying about.

In that case, by your definition everyone in Iceland is incestuous.

Something in between that is probably the truth. Humans are an offshoot of another species, so...

Dorian dates the familial connection between the two houses back to the Steel Age; that is, at bare minimum, 240 years separation.

So to answer your question, no, at that point it does not count as incest.

As if there's something wrong with incest.

It mostly has to do with the genetic deficiencies you create in offspring, which leads to problems in the species that could lead to extinction within a probability margin.

Uhuh, all people should do a med check before having kids, if your health is not in tip/top condition then you should be banned from having kids, because it might lead to health deficiencies.

And of course people do incest on purpose and will continue to do so for generations, not because it happens that they fell in love.

Everyone is related if you're desperate enough to find a connection.
