experimented a lot with the Alchemist - Stealth , Frost, Knockout, Twin Fangs is the "King"Build.
Never seen a better Alchemist as mine.
Best Class in Fun
Good class at CC
Good class at Damage
Avg class at Survivability (but that depends mostly on skill)
Carried a lot of Pugs through Perilous, at least to 5/5

I really love the concept of the character and the tempest specialisation in general.

Pssssst guys...there's been a working class build editor for a bit now. It's totally ok to use it. Just giving vague "freeze and poison stuff bruh. Killer CC and killer damage" isn't a whole lot to go on.

Since I respeced my Fire Flask/Bombs/Stealth/Uppercut Alchemist I'll gladly try your build next. What are 2 remaining skills?
I'm testing a loadout with Ice Flask/Poisoned Weapons/Stealth/Twin Fangs. It's much more effective than I initially though, thanks to the Ice/Twin Fangs combo.

What passives are you alchemists taking???
I really love the concept of the character and the tempest specialisation in general.
I've been meaning to bring this up actually... The disable passive on the alch is one of the strongest and least recognized skills in the game in my opinion. 15% damage reduction for every crit that lasts 10 seconds and stacks is extremely powerful... With all the crit bonuses you can stack up you can crit ALOT and being a dual world class they can stack up very quickly.... You can land several crits in just a couple of seconds and reduce the damage of a strong mob or a boss dramtically... 6 crits in 2 or 3 seconds is easy to achieve and lowers the mobs damage by 90%... The demon commanders little pop up trick is just a tiny scratch when you start tagging him with crits every time you can get a hold of him and makes that fight pretty trivial (just using him as an example since people always complain how difficult he is). There are several "common sense" passives you always take... (I was never here for stealth, etc...) but if you aren't picking up disable on your alch you are missing out on a great skill

Is shadow strike more effective than twin fangs for a stealth/ frost alchemist?
It's a matter of personal preference... I personally prefer shadow strike for the reasons I stated earlier in this thread. Both are detonators but the knockdown and cooldown reduction from shadow strike are very useful and you don't need to be so concerned about flanking the enemy... It can bug occasionally and not reset your stealth cooldown with the "I was never here" passive... Honestly that has never really created an issue for me though (especially with frost flask available). I might be crazy but it seems like recently it doesn't bug as often as it used to.

Thankyou for your info.
Now i just have to level up and promote my alchemist to try out the new build.
Fire flask and skittles is boring, for me anyways

No, because Shadow strike doesnt trigger the I was never here passiv

I'm pretty sure you guys are wrong about shadow strike bugging out. I will test it but if memory serves, I doubt it. I've heard of a lot of bugs that are unique to specific people. For example sometimes I will die with Rampage on my Reaver but it won't bug out.
anyway now that i know what shadow strike does (and that parry SUCKS) i will promote her and either have instant poison cloud and weapons cooldown constantly, or a fire flask combo with another ability

Nope, once again, you are wrong. Ive tested this several times, as have others. If you kill someone from stealth via shadow strike, the IWNH passive doesn't trigger.

oh i think i know what it was now. pretty sure if you wait until you're not in stealth anymore and just use shadow strike when flanking, it triggers the instant cooldown on stealth.

No he's right. It doesn't work when you're in stealth while you use shadow strike.
But I honestly don't think it's a bug. It must be meant to work that way because when you come out of Stealth behind something and back stab it, it's not going to notice you until it's dead and THAT'S what resets the cooldown. Shadow Strike is there to reset cooldowns on other abilities and if you don't have the time to kill something from the flank before you go back into Stealth.
I'm honestly just going to use Shadow Strike because of the instant cooldown on other abilities like poison or fire flask + AoE or sleep.

I honestly think I know where this bug comes from...
Wasn't there something in ME3MP about the order in which damage was applied? Like Ammo powers counting before the weapon damage, or some such?
I think this might be a weird case of that... Could the 50% damage bonus of Stealth be considered it's own "damage type", and thus, when modified for flanking and critical hit, could be somehow confusing Shadow Strike?
Or who knows... could be that the modifier that is supposed to detect that you hit an enemy on the flank with Shadow Strike could very well just be broken, causing intermittent problems applying the cooldown reduction.

Ohhh, where's the Champion of Kirkwall Shadow when you need them? I miss my Decoy and getting perma-stealth from those smoke bombs.
Screw this Shadow Strike and Hidden Blades crap.

I really don't see a problem with fire flask mines as long as you flank a group of enemies with stealth and hit them all at one with the mines. If you know what you're doing you'll hit every single last enemy with those mines, and they shouldn't even notice you're there if you wait for the party to aggro them.
If they do you've got I Was Never Here and you could either use Shadow Strike to reduce the cooldowns or just another filler move to keep you alive while your stamina is low.
But I can definitely tell you Shadow Strike NOT work well with Elemental Mines UNLESS you have Fire Flask. You'll just wind up depleting your stamina constantly before it even fills back up.
I'm still trying to decide if I'll be more conservative and use Flank Attack instead of Toxic Cloud, but I'm definitely going with Stealth + Shadow Strike + Poison Weapons next build.

Is shadow strike more effective than twin fangs for a stealth/ frost alchemist?
Take into consideration that shadow strikes damage is also heavily nerfed if you try to use it after being hit, and frost flask is freezing enemies that hit you in combat( and taunts enemies to hit you more if you get upgrade), so it might not be the most effective option if you are trying to shatter combo it.

Couldn't you go fire flask and then just spam flank attack and twin fangs for tons of damage?
