I liked both games. I do think Dragon Age II is slightly better in terms of what I usually look for in Dragon Age, and that is it's story and presentation of it.

Truth be told, Dragon Age as a series has always been "mediocre" enough. Origins had flaws, 2 had flaws, Inquisition had flaws. We tend to overlook them because we enjoyed the game's in the end, and any deviation from the one formula that works for us the best makes it...worse I guess?

I don't know, I find threads like this flabbergasting and a waste of time. Truth be told, most of your opinions are meaningless in the end anyway, it's subjective, a different experience, blah blah blah. I may like hearing your opinions, but it doesn't mean I have to agree or disagree, nor does it really matter in the end, does it?

Played through it twice, good game. In fact I would say its biggest hindrance from my perspective is the lack of console commands or new game+. Which is basically whats keeping me from doing a third play through at the moment. I really don't want to have to wait to get to skyhold and do a darned fetch quest for my specialization again. Still holding out hope for some mods, later down the road... hopefully.

Overall:

DAO: 10 (Well not perfect, but close enough to round up. Played the shyte out of it. Also mods!)

DA2: 5ish (Hawke, recycling, story derps.)

DAI: 8ish (experienced little to no bugs, and already had a 360 controller so I got over the shyte PC controls quick. But damn it, now that I played properly I want my cheats, mods and whats nots!)

DA2 was the superior game in my opinion, I enjoyed it more that Origins even.

KOTOR2 was a superior game to KOTOR1, also in my opinion.

But it's mostly the story I'm looking at.

You people are just going to have to accept that people like things that you don't.

That's it

DAI win at more maps variety, graphics, maybe characters, content but as DRAGON AGE there are lot of things better made in DA2..

1) GET OUT of here. DA2 is not bad as the popular opinion claims. In fact it was REALLY good with fresh new ideas for a bioware game:
friendship-rivarly was the best approval system in any bioware game.
cross class combos
Better combat
more tactical combat (try nightmare and then you ll see if tyou can buttonmash your way)
Lots of story
Voiced protagonist
All the above were actual improvements (or at least experimentations) to the so beloved DaO.
2)Da:I is light years ahead of other selfacclaimed masterpieces like skyrim (booooring) in terms of gameplay, exploraion, meaningfull sotry, characters. i bet you like skyrim do you?

I think that DAI is exactly as bad as DA2, i.e. not bad at all :D .

But then, I am a weirdo who played DA2 eight times, so I guess my opinion doesn't count for much. I would have to say that DAI seems to have been better received by non-me people, although of course there are still people that hate it. So far I love both games.

I ve played da2 4 times compared to DaO 3 times. I cannot go back to DaO after da2 and DaI. the combat is kinda ... meh. All that air swinging 2h warriors missing alll the time...  but noooooo "teh orijins is teh bestests game , da:I is bad derp derp". Seriously?

My biggest gripe is the lack of armor.. broken promises and the empty worlds.. once you clear a map that is it.. it is clear.. come back a few levels and there are new enemies.. clear them and that is it, clear once more..

We were promised 1000s of armor and weapon combinations.. not 50 with 1000s of colour and attribute combinations..

We were promised if we could see it, we could use it. yet there are dozens of armor sets in this game only available to NPCs..

We were promised a vast open world full of enemies and a atmosphere that made us feel like the world was tearing itself apart.. instead we got a vast open world full of fetch quests and half a dozen enemy camps that once cleared would leave the map only populated by a couple inquisition scouts and herdables.. where are the enemies trying to retake their territory?

Hell, I took one look at the hissing wastes on my first play through, groaned and left.. came back couple days later when I found a map on reddit and cleared it in a day. So much of this game is fetch quests, needlessly running around a giant empty map and did I say fetch quests? If I wanted to play skyrim I would load up steam and play skyrim.

Depends on one's tastes, I suppose. So far, I personally prefer DA2 to DAI. I found the combat to be quite a bit more fun and I felt a lot closer to my companions there than I did in DAI (which was one of the reasons I preferred ME2 to ME3).

That said, I still like it. It might probably help if I played on next-gen and didn't have such a hard time getting party banter to trigger.

In the case of DA2 im inclined to side with the popular opinion.   DA2 is the ONLY Bioware game i have played were i was PRAYING the game would just END!  50hours of "dear lord let it end." "by the maker this sucks!"    and I  dont recall anything innovative about the game.

Loved origins

Liked da 2 but only after I got the dlc and used to the waves of enemies. Fast wannabe actiony combat.

Liked inquisition but just like MMOs I start despising it when I'm bored.

I have been playing mmos since eq 1 and with all of them I get to a point where I'm almost depressed that I sunk so much of my free time into them.

It's a dirty feeling and I get the same feeling when I play inquisition.

I miss that, too. My favourite part of DA2.

You can, I cannot. Dragon Age two had a fairly decent story. The narrative style wasn't quite the same as the previous, which isn't necessary a bad thing. My main issues with Dragon Age 2 were the excessive recycling of locations which made the world seem small and lacking in creativity, and Kirkwall being exclusively populated by Ninjas. Another Wave!

Dragon Age Inquisition has a small amount of content recycling, a few caves look very similar but otherwise is a very large and unique looking world. I haven't seen any ninja waves trying to kill me, which is also a plus. Though I do miss their failed attempts at stealth. Maybe they aren't failing at the stealth part.

That being said, Dragon Age Inquisition has its own unique set of issues, limitations and content that isn't present. A few fixes here and there, some cut content patches / expansions and a few changes should put the game in a very nice place.

Im one of the freaks that like DA2s combat beter than Origins and couldn't really get into Origins despite the tactical approach it still lacked the action and that's heavier on the scale.

DA2 had Sebastion, an Archer Prince, Fenris, an Elven aposate infused with lyrum (Badass) and then their was Merril. I enjoyed My company better. I do Prefer Cassandra as the womanly dykish warrior as she has a tougher personality and accent while whats her face from DA2 was aright but i kinda felt like she was sort of a ****. Casandra can be tough but i can tel their is a sense of humor and soft spot somewhere inside. Varric is varric, whoopity doo. But then the Mage Solas Anders former grey warden turned apostate? Anders wins that in my opinion. Plus he's less... creepy. Iron Bull is so cliche' he's a joke. I like Blackwall and would of preffered Cullen as a party member over bull (for some reason when you firs meet bull and they are on the coast he tells them to break open the casks it reminds me of starship troopers and Ratjechts Roughnecks.) Not keen on Vivi, and Sera and Cole are ok but that Badass factor is just Lacking. There isn't that one or two characters with a dark past.plus Merills innocence and her powerful magic (when you first get her she is really strong in magic). Vivi sems like the token Black mage and Dorian is cliché ish. The French mage, lol. Cole, the basket case rogue. Sera the white trash elven rogue, Blackwall, the hardened veteran with a little gas till in his tank, Iron Bull the "big guy" that likes to hit things cliché. Backstory is interesting tho. Solas is a much more positive and less violent and angry version of fenris but with his own personality a well. Instead of Sera id of liked a more dark toned, witty but spoken when pooken to or when absolutely necessary daredevil/cowboy like rogue> take Geralt of Rivia and cross his personality with Altair's style. A female rogue, romance option in place of cole like traumatized darker version of Merill gone a little cookoo.and a rogue not a mage, Id of scrapped Dorian and made a very dark toned Mage that was all business and vey focuse. A Less Broody, Noble upstanding warrior type in place of Iron Bull but one with litte or no faith making him and Cassandra rivals arguig all the time about Theology and what not. But he would be humble and accept when he was perhaps wrong, Then Keep Blackwall only maing him a little more intriguing.

A colorful cast is always good but with three clases and thre characters per, then i'd want atleast one of he darker shaded characters. in each of the classes

Cole reminds me a little bit of the grave robber from Red Dead Redemption only on Seroquel and valium as opposed to meth.

First off, I'm one of those didn't think that DA2 was as bad a game as some people think. Having said that, DA:I iis a very good game IMO.

Personally I think the OP's premise is just plain wrong on a couple of  levels.
