After you arrive at Skyhold, if you talk to the person in the library (near the research table), he gives you a quest to find 48 (?) books that are scattered around Skyhold.

So I found all of the book and finished the quest. However, 30 hours of gameplay later, I still keep seeing these books everywhere. They are interactable but nothing happens if I interact with them, and the next time I see a book I interacted with, it is interactable again.

I know this is not a game-breaking bug, but it's annoying, and I assume it's relatively easy to fix (just make the books disappear after the quest is completed).

Thanks!

The interactivity of them after you complete the quest is most likely a bug, but I doubt the books themselves still being present is a bug.

I assumed that after I collect all of them, they'll be back in the library. It's weird to keep seeing them everywhere, especially that some are in very odd places (e.g. one is floating in the air, which I suppose is another bug). However, you're right; the real bug is that they are still interactable. Whether or not they should disappear is more of a quest feature than an actual bug. Either way, there's something here that needs fixing.

I just checked and the interaction text on the books actually says "Take". So, if I took all of the books, they're not supposed to still be there. Definitely a bug.

*BUMP*

I would appreciate an official response from BioWare that they are aware of this bug. Thank you.

not only that, but the books respawn during the quest so you can complete it by picking up the same books over and over

even more annoying though is their persistance after the quest

Who gives you this quest? There is a tranquil near the table upstairs in the area that Dorian can be found - but I have played the game 6 times, and have never had this quest. Is this something that you overhear or is there actually a person you can talk to? I have tried to talk to everyone but no luck

There's an elven librarian you can speak to near to where you can turn in your research items. Talk to him a few times and he'll give you the quest.

It's not Helisma Derington (the tranquil) you get this quest from, but from some guy near her, in front of the book shelves. He never says anything useful until you've advanced the main story enough to unlock his book quest. According to the wiki, you need the "Enhanced studies" perk and completion of "The Final Piece".

I am surprised that so little people have brought up this problem so far. I did this quest during my first playthrough and the presence of those books was so annoying that I carefully avoid to trigger it again in my subsequent ones.
