He does not mention Morrigan in my codex entry either and I think it's the way it should be. As Morrigan herself tells you it's no business of yours. It is mentioned that not even Lelliana opens the letter and she IS your spymaster why would the Warden tell the Inquisitor spicy details about Morrigan? Would it be cool if we had that codex entry? sure but it's like whatever it makes more sense this way.

I think it's perfect this way the codex you get is a formal letter from one leader to an other if you think about it these people don't even know each other they are complete strangers. Would you talk to a stranger about your family and love life ? Well I guess you could but you would have to be incredibly drunk.

So? A LOT of codex entries are personal letters. Cullen's, for instance, is a letter he sent to his sister. The codex wouldn't necessarily have to be a letter written to the Inquisitor by the Warden.

Honestly, I can picture a dialogue between the Warden and Inquisitor about their love lives if Cullen is romanced. XD

Yeah, looking back on this and it does seem to be bugged.

I did Adamant first and then I think before I even did the Winter Palace mission, I got the "Contact Hero of Ferelden" war table mission from Leliana. Then once I recruited Morrigan and talked to her one of the first things she mentioned was how she received the personal note from the HoF. But in the actual codex entry for the letter from the HoF, he makes no mention of Morrigan or Kieran, rightly so, because I hadn't recruited Morrigan yet. And then upon questioning Morrigan further, when you ask if the HoF could help, Morrigan seemingly gives you the war table mission prompt for contacting the Hero of Ferelden.

I'm wondering if you romanced Morrigan, maybe Leliana shouldn't be giving you that mission at all and the war table prompt should only be coming from Morrigan so that you get the acknowledgment of the personal letter in the codex.

I read that you have to do Wicked Hearts and Wicked Minds before Here Lies the Abyss

Apparently you trigger the quest just by talking to Hawke and it messes up the codex letter from the HoF

That's really annoying if true, because it locks out any conversations with Varric for a long time. Varric won't appear in his spot in Skyhold until you talk to Hawke, which also means that Varric's fight with Cassandra, and Cassandra's "Swords and Shields" quest, are locked as well.

Mine was REALLY bugged in a kind of hilarious way. I recruited Alistair in Crestwood- the. Did Wicked Eyes Wicked Hearts. In my playthrough Alistair is warden, but still with his love HoF.

Alistair gave me the contact HoF mission.

I get the letter it reads something like this:

I've included something for morrigan and Kieran. Please pass it along. And take care of my family.

I've also included something for Alistair. Please pass this along as well.

I'm thinking- hmm, that's weird, why would HoF call morrigan and Kieran family? Unless she means in a strange step mom sort of way.

Go give Alistair his letter: he says makers breath I miss that woman. Just as he should.

Give morrigan her letter: "I got my letter, and I think it was even still sealed. Good thing too. There's things in there that would make an Orlesian blush."

WTF? Great so HoF, Morrigab, and Alistair are in some kind of weird threesome raising OGB....

Thought it was funny. But you really aren't missing much.

I kept waiting for my Warden to pop up and one shot kill Corpheyous with manaclash, drop the mic, and exit stage left without saying a word with Morrigan on the sidelines arms crossed, nodding whilst proclaiming 'that's my man!'.

I also experienced this bug... finished the game today. The letter in my codex mentions nothing about the personal letter, nor was there dialogue after the hero of fereldon mission. On top of this, the ending slideshow showed morrigan by herself. During the game, her son was present and had an old god soul.

Disappointing to get to the end and discover a bug like this. I verified that the DA Keep was correct.
