No.
ARPG = ARPG
RPG = RPG
ARPG ≠ RPG
DA:I is an ARPG. (And a single player MMO xD)
So does this mean that a role-playing game is not a game? Because if we follow your logic here, that's what seems to follow.

I really hope Bioware adds what I listed from other rpg's and DAI will be a realsitic rpg and a smashing hit.
These little features don't effect the main storyline.
They only add much needed realism and what you can do in the game to make it more a true rpg.
The more of these options = a better rpg that you will remember 5+ years later and even play again.
The more you take away and simplify, the less likely you will remember the game or play it again.
Mass Effect 3 was worse... but only by a little..
yuppers and I have also have ME3 on my hard drive.

Okay fine. You can call an action RPG like DA:I either an action game or an RPG.That's how I see it.
Action RPG is an RPG. Subgenre -> Proper Subset (in this case)
ARPG ⊊ [/size]RPG == every ARPG is RPG. There are RPGs that are not ARPGS
More people seems to think like that also becasue:
http://en.wikipedia....le-playing_game
"Action role-playing games (abbreviated action RPG, action/RPG, or ARPG) form a loosely defined subgenre of role-playing video games"
DA:I is an action game.DAI is an RPG.
Harvest moon, for example, is an RPG and doesn't have any violence.Of course it's an RPG. It has all the necessary elements: violence, powerups and bling. Just read upthread where this is laid out in great detail.
This whole "what is an RPG" topic has been done to death, hasn't it? We never end up agreeing. And even if we did, who the hell cares?
Personally I do care from a historic standpoint, but the opinions of others...not really no.
DAI, though action focused as it may be, is definitely an RPG, you could argue it is an ARPG, but that would still make it in an RPG as well at the end of the day. All ARPGs are RPGs, since ARPG is a subset of RPG. Everyone saying DAI is not an RPG is wrong. RPG is such an awfully broad term that you could find many games that fulfill all of its characteristics, which at least I would have never described as an RPG ever - like GTA: San Andreas for example.
