That doesn't sound good. LOL
I entirely agree. Though, after it turned back on I began to think it was because of the driver updating thing. Then I went to Youtube. It didn't freeze.
For a while.

I hope I don't sound like I'm ignoring your problem, but you can buy a laptop for 200 bucks. it's not too expensive.

Outside of that, crazy's advice is the best we can give you I think.
*Sigh*
After days of frustration I think it's finally over. I installed one of those old drivers and for the following day it still happened, albeit rarely.
The day of today has come, and it hasn't given me problems as of yet. The videos do not freeze.
I think I have developed ties to this old piece of dung. No matter how much crap happens it always manages to push through. It's as if it wants to survive.

It probably won't last. Your problems sound similar to the ones I started to have with my laptop, only I got BSODs rather than just freezing most of the time. I sent the laptop away to have the issue investigated and the guys there couldn't replicate it. Played Skyrim for an hour and no BSOD, haha. Eventually they sent it back to me. It kept working for about a week, then it started crashing again. The NVIDIA graphics chip was dying.
Reflow soldering is being touted as a (temporary) fix for such issues. There are videos from people putting their laptop's motherboard in an oven to fix it. It might work, but I didn't dare to try it and I didn't want to pay 100 bucks to have it done because it's not a method that is recommended by manufacturers and chances are it will go bad again after a few weeks/months.

I have started saving some money in case this one dies completely.
Quick questions: I have some PC stores nearby that build computers. Do you people recommend that option since I can not build one myself?
The other question... will this PC play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? I've heard many good things about that game and I really want to try it.

i recommend building the pc by yourself, its really not that difficult^^ (and usually cheaper). but of course it a better option than buying some OEM-built crap.

which hardware specs does "this PC" have? without knowing that, this question is pointless.
edit: didnt know that the game is over 10 years old. should run on every current PC.

Sorry, I left the specs on the previous pages.
The processor is a Pentium Dual Core with 2.20 gigahertz
The graphics card is an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4xxx with 512 megabytes of dedicated something
It has 4 gigabytes of RAM
Are any more specs required?
Oh, another question! Where should I buy it? GOG or Steam?

wait, this is the notebook you currently having trouble with, right? i thought your questions was about a potential new PC.
(btw the "something" is called "video memory"^^)
i would be surprised if the game doesnt run on this notebook, at least when the gpu is working as it should.

Hah! I wish it was a new PC. Too soon to even think about one. I'll try this game out when I have the chance.
