I have three thin horizontal glowing lines near the center bottom of my screen. I've also seen a screenshot where someone else had two of the three lit up.
What are these? Focus bars? Something else?

They are the power meters for your special ability. When you are in the cave under Haven, you are introduced to your first special power (opening a damaging rift with your mark). It is fueled by the focus bars. You can only use it when at least one bar is full. The other bars are unlocked with inquisition perks in the "Forces" section. When specializations are unlocked, you will be able to have one more special ability through that skill tree, and your companions will be able to use a special ability as well. All special abilities are powered from the same focus pool (it is a team resource, not individual).
