I remember reading in the mechanics thread that Guard explicitly was based off Con granted health, so Belts of Health did nothing for it.

Yeah who cares anyway, as long as what you're using is a bloody purple unique item. Jesus Christ... I remember a time when you didn't have to worry whether a stat worked or not in DA...

Do you have a link to the test?

Generally speaking, I do carry a spirit resistance tonic on most of my classes to solve the demon commander issue somewhat.
What issue?

What issue?
The issue that the Demon Commander even exists.

Demon commander projectiles (and wraiths) deal spirit damage, so the spirit resistance tonic negates this somewhat. Its not an issue per say, just annoying if you play a squishy character.

Nevurmind, looks like it works fine with +health. I misremembered, it's apparently +guard belts not working.

Penguin, do you have a guide like this for Rogues and Mages?
I have been putting Superb Melee Defense Belts on my dual wielding Rogues (and my shitty Hunter build for now) and it should in theory be my best bet. It really has saved me from getting OHKO'd by Revenants and such.
And I've been using Heal Bonus belts on my mages who have Death Syphon.
Reason I don't mention rings or amulets is I don't have enough good ones yet so I'm stuck with Strength and Stamina and ability rings...

What about the third cry of fear? Is that spirit damage, too? I saw a Katari go down once, when he tried to charge the DC - that's when I realized the fear attack deals damage on top.

I assume spirit. Not 100% sure though so don't quote me on that. Ill keep an eye out next time I play demons.

Just tested, the panic ability is spirit damage.

So one resistance potion is worth carrying, for one faction's boss.
I must admit i carry them at the moment, and they do seem to make a significant difference (for the 180 seconds they last...), but getting the PUGs to clump up is near impossible - even using voice comms, they just ignore you ![]()
Back to promotion/constitution, so the best thing for warriors is to not promote, but play rogues for crit chance? is promoting con really worth it then?

Wraiths do spirit damage, too.

ugh huh. But given you can only carry two potions of a specific type; you aren't going to pop a Spirit Resistance potion on Zone 3, when you come across say 6 wraiths. Or at least i wouldn't bother.

No, but they seem OK in wave 5.

It shouldnt take you longer than 6 minutes to complete wave 5 (duration of two tonics). That's where i use them anyway.
