I suppose you have to do daggers, maces, 2h maces and 1h swords yet, but after that... no more competitive weekend challenges

There are only so many kills in an operation, and there was that match I posted about in which I came away with a grand total of 6 staff kills, and that was when I was trying to get them. No wonder people play so selfishly during these events.

BTW it seems kind of a low blow to have challenges for classes we have to unlock at a time when it is so difficult to get enough cloth to unlock them. I understand trying to get us to spread our wings, but you've sort of clipped them.

This exact thing is why I defaulted back to my ME3MP habit of running the lowest difficulty solo too do these sorts of events.

Keeps me from subconciously going into selfish ******* mode in a match with other people and eliminates the stress of others doing the same to me. Then you can play normally for the rest of the weekend.

You know the kills are cumulative over missions, right? You don't need 100 kills in one go.

I'm sure there will be other types of challenges that will be introduced for weekend challenges. I just hope they won't all be about scoring a certain type of kill.

I have never understood why people complain about this. These 100 kills do go across matches just dont think about it. Do your normal games and they will come to you.

It's only a 100 kills and you don't have to do them in one match. I did it without even trying with friends. The hardest part is just getting the weapon if you don't have one yet, like the axes from last time, RNG refused to give one to me until the day after the event.

Well, not exactly depending on which characters you have unlocked. Plus it kinda messes with the idea of well-balanced groups when players are forced to play specific characters. And focus on getting weapon kills, not ability kills. Not so much an issue this time but it was kinda annoying last weekend for staves.

That too. I got kinda lucky in that regard, I got a blue axe very early. Even if you have a weapon of the right type at the ready, it might be a very crappy one. To Bioware's credit, they seem to make sure you can always at least do one of the two. Staff last weekend and Bows this weekend are weapons you always have, and a starting character who uses them.

Killing with abilities counts as weapon kills, you don't have to use default attack

I'm not so sure, the game sure doesn't make that clear, and there are "medals" for ability kills just like in ME3. I'm sure abilities like Explosive Shot count as weapon attacks, but magic, mines, poison cloud etc? Pretty sure offensive potions don't count at least.

It does work that way. I did the staff challenge on elementalist using mostly spells, my friend did with Necromancer using only virulent walking bomb

Haven't you noticed that even if you almost exclusively attack using abilities you still get more/the same for weapon kills?

I haven't done any extensive testing on that, no. I suppose I got the wrong impression either because I was unlucky or because I played a Keeper, or a combination of both.

i got all my 2h weapon kills using dragon rage on my reaver. like it was stated above, don't obsess about getting those kills in one match. you have 3 days to get them so there is no rush unless your unable to play. even then you can just start a solo match and bag the kills that way.

as to not having the classes unlocked...that is just part of progression. they aren't mean to be finished by every person who just started that day.

i personally enjoy these challenges because they are stupidly easy to get. 2 matches and a free chest.

MEMP events ran for about a year - I expect at least as much support for DAMP.

Just look at the Challenges menu for a clue about future weekend objectives...

As a level one Archer with literally no experience with DA:I, not even in the SP campaign, I finished the challenge in 5 matches, or about 1 hour, 20 minutes.

I'm not sure I see how this could be interpreted as "so difficult."

Just solo routine if you need X weapon kills. Also, spell / skill ability kills count too.

Obviously. And I didn't say anything at all about the difficulty. I am talking about how it takes a co-op game and makes it competitive or solo.

Also, 6 kills per match would be just fine if people had unlimited time to play, but they do not. Far, far from it.

You didn't even read the rest of the sentence you are quoting.

I didn't quote one sentence. I quoted everything you said, and responded to the gist of it.

If you didn't mean to make it sound like you were complaining about how difficult the challenge is, then I suggest you reword the original post.

No, the "so difficult" quotation. You used it in the totally wrong context.

Unless you're actively only attacking pots, you shouldn't have that much trouble getting kills, especially PUGing through Routine. And even then, I'm pretty sure that pots count towards kill totals. Maybe.

Six kills? Maybe it's time for you to put away the Keeper, or at least spec her into Static Cage.

And there's so much more for them to challenge us with. All five types of elemental damage. Dozens of types of enemies.
