In case anyone was not able to complete the weekend challenge because of PSN and XBL being out most of the weekend (me!), they will redo the event at a later date:

If she hasn't unlocked a Katari or a Reaver in the store... or gotten enough materials salvaged to craft their armor to unlock them... then, no, she wouldn't have a character that can wield a greataxe.
You start with Legionnaire (Warrior), Keeper (mage), and Archer (rogue). That's it. Legionnaire is sword and one-handed weapon only. The rest have to be unlocked either via armor crafting or chests in the store.

Unfortunately you just have to fight the RNG, salvage enough materials, and make the armour for one of them.
So given these challenges are likely to continue, definitely save one of each weapon type:
2-handed warrior (greataxe, greatsword, maul)
bow user (bow)
sword&board (axe, sword, mace)
mage (staff)
Since they've started i've saved a really awful Mace (like level 6 common), and my 1-handed swords are much worse than my 1-handed axes, but gotta be done...
I'm a PC player but missed the last event (the 2H Axe and Bow one). If they rerelease the event on all platforms, that'd be awesome. If they don't rerelease on PC too, then I shall be over there, in that dark corner. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated!
