I watched a few of your videos and you seem to have every "best" item in the game, which leads me to my question, how many hours have you played in total to enable to get all that high end gear?

I am sure he bought alot of platinum bud but there is nothing wrong with supporting multiplayer. Myself i have played non stop when i am not working since release and i still buy platinum now and then just to help support the dlc. Ea will only let it be so if there is money to be made lol.

A friend of mine started playing 2 days ago.

He looted Caliban and griphon longbow in his first large chest and is now "outgearing" my 200h+ account.

 

Luck seems to be a more important factor then time invested.

I actually considered spending some real money but every time I try (via paypal), it does not let me, hard to describe. I thought EA wanted player money? Oh well. I thought he might have dropped a lot of quid.

This spins me out because it happened to my brother using his credit card. Look i will be the first to say spending money on the game is good really it supports the mp. Alot of people forgot that me3mp was supported and kept the dlcs pumping because of the support also the dlcs were free. Also nothing better man than buying tonnes of chest at once. This is what i picked up from my chest spree remember its random.


10 percent heal on kill
Two level 20 plus staffs
Level 15 and 20 plus dagger unique
200 hp belt
Thunderstrike
2h weapon with shield ability
Two terrisians the bow that does shield bash
Tonnes of other stuff i pulled apart also heaps of superb runes

Was it worth it well only you can decide for me i have alot of spare cash so yes. Plus i love this game and now i can almost solo threating on a level 8.

Even so, given the RNG, X person spending 250 hours does not mean Y person will yield the same results.

Yes.  

Go to Challenges -> General -> Wealth or the individual map "... Riches" challenges.

 

I'm sitting on 240,000-ish gold, and not got any Heal on Kill rings, and missing all the (arguably) best weapons.  Most of my stuff is very good though, just not the best...

Id recommend my post above just try it once. I picked up alot from the 75 dollar lot and really enjoy having things like the heal of kill and btw it makes the assassin dam deadly.

I'm ~300k and just recently got Punched by the maker and fury of the veil, only top end weapons I have, out of accessories I've gotten epic ranged def belt and 10const+10cun necks, that's it.

Im in the same boat, logged 445 total hours, and have everything worth having except the shields mage hunter and the emperor. First chest i ever opened had a punched by the maker in it, shortly after that i got my 15% cool down amulet 10% heal on kill rings and 200hp belt. 375 prestige now and it really means nothing, its ALL rng.

Not with the current system. Why would i spend £50 to buy what will most likely be level 10 uniques at best? Id rather spend that on lottery tickets.

Penguin, how much in game gold have you accumulated?

I have pretty much every high level unique except the few uniques i have wanted all along. Im missing a life drain ring, sulevin blade, caliban, hp +200. I would pay real money for the 10% life drain ring at this point if it was guaranteed. I've spent over 500k in game gold.

I have staff of the void, shield of the emperor, mage hunter shield, longbow of the griffon, agony, wicked grace, walking death, 15% cooldown amulet, 50 stamina amulet, 10% crit chance ring, 10% attack ring and another 20+ uniques under level 20.

OMG,I spent 471 K gold.

Well, at 263k I have:

 

1) Moon Axe (so one of the good 1h weapons, though it's not a Caliban)

2) Punched by the Maker (top bow for archer)

3) Void Staff

4) Heal on hit unique staff, I kept it out of curiosity

5) 21/15 lvl unique daggers, they're not the best but not the worst as well

6) lvl 20 unique shield

 

plus a bunch of runes, unique rings (no HoK though) and belts, one unique amulet. It could be worse, I guess, but the good loot came from 15 chests or so.

Finally got punched by the maker and the griffon bow 2 days apart. Take that!!!!!

532k. All I'm lacking really is the Caliban, 15% CD amulet, Punched by the Maker and Pyre of the Forgotten.
