Why complete removal of healing, while sounding good on paper for enhancing tactical play, is actually a disaster

I'm more interested in the bottom line experience.

You have a poor companion AI, a vastly limited tactics menu, and instead of spamming healing spells you're spamming barrier and guard. Micro-management was increased and a less satisfying combat imperative is in place. That's what I see in the current combat design.

Spot on, this is along the lines of my dissatisfaction with the combat as well, and for me it makes the combat less tactical and strategic as well.

Micromanagement makes it less tactical? Have you played the old IE games? I'm curious.

Micromanagement could mean tactical if it was designed right (I love any good strategy game) B)  But with Inquisition I find it to be less tactical than Origins for instance. There isn't a whole lot of strategy in combat in Inquisition, and instead there is a lot more micromanagement, the tedious kind that is, IMO ^^
