In that particular scene, I always start laughing out loud when Cullen tilts back his head and closes his eyes. It's just too much, for me. Even when I was a child, I hated singing cartoons, so I guess it makes sense that I find these in-game vocals cheesy and humorous. I cannot take them seriously. This DAI scene did at least make sense in concept; but then Cullen assumed his yodeling pose...
Yeah
I don't know, I think they should have let Cullen out of the singing like Cassandra was
The commander of the army breaking down into a song was too much for me

I think I'd have been fine if he kept his eyes open. His joining in didn't bother me. His closing his eyes to let it rip was too freaking funny.

=/ Idunno, it worked for me. Cullen was a Templar, from convos with templars and Alistair in Origins, you learn that they have to go through mini-preisthood training as young boys, and so they do know how to sing, especially chantry songs. To me it looked like he was remembering back to childhood the chantry songs that were drilled into him as a boy, that he probably hated singing, but now suddenly felt why maybe, sometimes, they are needed, and he dug down into his memory and joined in.
*shrug* the scene worked for me. Better than Leiliana, who shouldn't have been able to project that well while sitting with her knees to her chest.

Did you find the note referencing the "Sing-quizition?" Now that's more of a Glee reference. Let's just be thankful there wasn't coordinated dancing to accompany the singing. A choice to join in would have been nice, tho. My first inquisitor was having none of that nonsense, but my second one would totally enjoy singing with his people.

Yeah, I'm totally on board with the appropriateness of the song, and everyone's joining the chorus. I just can't keep from laughing at that yodel-face. Clearly, I have issues.
Welcome to the BSN everyone here has issues so your fitting in.

I loved this scene! Emotional. I thought Cullen losing himself in the moment was perfect. There are not very many scenes in gaming that get at my heartstrings like the aforementioned 'Dawn will Come' scene.

I actually think this soundtrack has more in common with some of Howard Shore's lighter, softer themes from LotR.

yeah yeah, ****** take all you like.
What I'm saying is I've never noticed it to have words before.
While I'm at it though, tavern bards and their songs, again with skyrim, there's just too much taken from it.
Jumping up mountains, just like skyrim, no drive to the main story, just like skyrim.
Honestly I think the only thing they've really got right wit hthis game that's an improvement on the last is random loot.
Oh my god did you even platy skyrim?! Their tavern songs and singer were claptrap garbage painful on the ears. DAI has enchanting and inspirational music that was actually done on key. The music from this game kicks Skyrim in the video game testes and leaves skyrim crying on the floor of mediocrity.

I just realized, that one of the tavern songs (melody, well mostly) is from dao - the song leliana sang. I searched a bit youtube, and the song is apparently called Rise.
Edit. I know the melody is also part of the dao main theme.

It isn't copying Skyrim, nor was Skyrim the first RPG to make use of an inspiring song/bards to add immersion to the game world. It's very silly to assume something like that.

Mediocrity? You're saying this game isn't mediocre?
It's only just better than SKyrim and that's probably my love of DA:O & DA2 talking that makes me feel that way.
Again, a lot of you are mixing up the fact that it reminded ome of someything I'd expect to hear in that game and me saying it sound slike something that was in that game.
That wasn't what I meant.
But I'm glad to see people are so defensive about this. It was a throw away rant comment that has spiralled into 5 pages of nonsense. haha.
Also, Cullen's awful. I'm replaying DA:O as a mage and bumped into him in the tower, what a drip.

'throw away rant' so you made a thread...oh wait, this is BSN, it happens all the time. 'Spiraled' into five pages? Pffffft this ain't nothin'.
I do agree with you on Cullen in DA:O though. Couldn't stand the guy.
