I have been doing some testing and noticed armor has no effect atm. This started around the new dlc so i am wondering if armor is broken atm or working as it is meant to. If so then all classes are taking the same amount of damage.

Apparently it only affects the character's rear? Which is so absurd as to be useless. I was right, my Reaver ought to be wearing a chainmail bikini for all the good her armor's doing her.

I do have an assassins armor with 0 armor class.  Not sure what that is all about, pulled it from a chest reward.

Speaking of impractical armor, hopefully we get some Orlesian fancy dress armors in the future. Because my Lego needs to look like he's wearing his short pants on his head.

I'm going to admit I have no idea what armor is actually supposed to do in-game.

And there should be a Katari "armor" with a torso tattoo that says PUG LIFE and everyone thinks he really likes small, snorting dogs, but we'd know better.

It's hard out here for the Qun.

Its a hard life with horns but the rewards are great so if your like me and your skin is grey. Then i suggest you follow my steps number one is even tho you feel like your a squishy drink remember that your Qunari drinks. Step two now that you know your hero is a drunk remember that he also hides is gold in the trunk. Step 3 three now you know where the gold is walk that drunken Qunari into that mob.

Now sing with me "ooo let him die ooo let him die the bloke can take an arrow in the eye"

Sorry for double post, but this needed it's own box.

Can we please get a new face on the necromancer? Her portrait is so hot in a weird sketchy way to me.

Her actual face looks like a half-frog spawned grandmother that just had a nice glass of prune juice and is urgently looking for a chamber pot.

Don't even get the inquisition robes armor, I legit looks like she's pooping in her drawers. Not to mention I didn't think the ice skate blade on her forehead could get any worse. Until I saw the swashbuckling pirate hat. A nice little feather in her poopy pants' cap.

It was, but then they armored our rears.

Never let it be said that Bioware doesn't know their community.

What gets me is that most of the faces in DAI are horrendous as if a robot was used to randomly choose settings and generate faces. In comparison, Dragon Age Redesigned mod for DA1 improved the faces and other parts of hundreds of characters, sometimes breathtakingly well-done, and was 99% the work of a single person doing it for free.

I preferred the vanilla faces.  Like real life, not every single person was gorgeous / chiseled features etc.  But, mainly I was always surprised that he got away with calling that mod "DRAGON AGE REDESIGNED" when all he did was fiddle with the face sliders.

Back on topic though, is this meant to be a serious thread, like OP genuinely believes armor is not working correctly?  What kind of testing did you do?  I would actually like it if all armor had the same armor rating (though preferably not 0), It'd mean we could choose to use the older armor / colors without gimping...

It's been tested and confirmed. All armor currently has a value of 0. All armor boosting passives and active e skills that raise armor also have 0 effect.
You can do it pretty easily yourself. Go see what a routine mob hits you for, then switch your armor, and redo. Don't take our word for it. Test it yourself you'll see. Wear whatever armor you want right now, serious no troll.

I've had the same problem with my Assassin as well as my Elementalist.  Got the Master Elementalist's Robes and I was taking way more damage than every other Elementalist I saw while pugging Threatening, and they were all using the starting mage armor!

No issues with my Keeper and I still haven't gotten her past the upgraded versions of her starting armor.  Granted, I just spam Barrier with her, but I still take less damage with her than with my Assassin, who has a higher armor rating.  It was so damn frustrating that my armor didn't do anything to reduce the damage my Elementalist and Assassin took.  They may as well have had nothing on at all.   <_<
