Back on topic though, is this meant to be a serious thread, like OP genuinely believes armor is not working correctly?  What kind of testing did you do?  I would actually like it if all armor had the same armor rating (though preferably not 0), It'd mean we could choose to use the older armor / colors without gimping...

Pre-patch numbers, i haven't tried since, but there's a baseline for you:

Routine:  green ghost's pewpew

vs Barrier = 17-19

Keeper's Vestments (45 armour), damage taken = 15-19

Keeper's Vestments (Ash) (50 armour), damage taken = 17-19

Katari's Hide (71 armour), damage taken = 21-24

Deathbringer's Hide (87 armour), damage taken = 21-24

Deathbringer's Hide (Dathras) (95 armour), damage taken = 21-24

Routine:  archer

vs Barrier = 82-132

vs Barrier (Ash) = 82-132

Keeper's Vestments (45 armour), damage taken =  37-63

Keeper's Vestments (Ash) (50 armour), damage taken = 33-40

Katari's Hide (71 armour), damage taken = 11-19

Deathbringer's Hide (87 armour), damage taken = 1-3 (and mostly 1s)

Deathbringer's Hide (Dathras) (95 armour), damage taken = 1

Threatening:  green ghost's pewpew

vs Barrier = 37-40

Keeper's Vestments (45 armour), damage taken = 37-40

Keeper's Vestments (Ash) (50 armour), damage taken = 37-40

Katari's Hide (71 armour), damage taken = 47-51

Deathbringer's Hide (87 armour), damage taken = 49-51 (? i didn't get a good data set)

Deathbringer's Hide (Dathras) (95 armour), damage taken = 47-50 (? got shot quite a bit)

Threatening:  archer

vs Barrier = 220-311

vs Barrier (Ash) = 156-319

Keeper's Vestments (45 armour), damage taken = 134-171

Keeper's Vestments (Ash) (50 armour), damage taken = 118-199

Katari's Hide (71 armour), damage taken = 95-149

Deathbringer's Hide (87 armour), damage taken = 69-111

Deathbringer's Hide (Dathras) (95 armour), damage taken = 60-96

It's been tested and confirmed. All armor currently has a value of 0. All armor boosting passives and active e skills that raise armor also have 0 effect.
You can do it pretty easily yourself. Go see what a routine mob hits you for, then switch your armor, and redo. Don't take our word for it. Test it yourself you'll see. Wear whatever armor you want right now, serious no troll.

Is this only an issue in MP ? It does feel like something is off in MP. I know in SP the attributes menu shows an armor rating of 580 on my Champion build.

Don't worry guys, at least the platinum store is working... (or does it?)

After all, that's the most important part of MP.

my Reaver ought to be wearing a chainmail bikini for all the good her armor's doing her.

I'd pay Platinum for that...

(I know. Behave. Slaps wrist...)

EDIT: Darn, I wasn't alone with that thought, I feel a bit dirty now...

Aha, the real reason why they made a young female templar for multiplayer shows itself!

Large chest piece confirmed?

Beside that, armour is purely cosmetic in the higher difficulties anyway. Now - if we at least could have a preview about the look of that armour we can craft. Not mentioning the armour value - it's just cosmetic, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Think of this bug as Goku style super training. We're all still getting a ton of hard-earned practice on Threatening and Perilous without the armor. Once its fixed we'll all be unstoppable monsters.

Sadly, my power level puts me well below Super Saiyan... Must spend another season with amnesia training with Piccolo.

On Topic, this bug caused my weekend team to fail our first Threatening match... That and emerging into a room from below with Red Templar Marksmen ringing the top of the stairs... Full Draw from 10+ archers all trained on one person, for each party member, without armor... Felt like Dark Souls...

Getting rid of the DLC fixes the issue. I thought it would be a pain but its super easy. Find the DLC folder and move it or rename it. Then restart your game. We played through on Perilous a few times and we sure felt less squishy. It also gets rid of those annoying dogs and all of their issues seeing how they are part of that DLC.

For me, the folder is located in Programs (x86) > Origin Games > Dragon Age Inquisition > Update > Multiplayer_DLC1. If you choose to rename it, don't just add something to the end of the name like I first did because it'll still be recognized as a valid add-on folder. Please note that you'll only be able to play with others that do not have the DLC but its easy to switch back and forth. Just remember to reboot the game whenever you switch.

i know it is one fix, but if you play on a host that have the dlc you still get the dogs ?
it is only when you host they are gone?

You can't play with people that have the dlc if you don't have it.

The cynicism in me sometimes tells me that this is one of the biggest reason why statistics/information is non-existent. The logic behind being that the lesser information players have, fewer complaints will be made. Unfortunately, someone one forget to turn off the scolling combat texts.

I don't need the chain link bikini perse, I'd settle for some tight leather pants on the assassin, or maybe high thigh slits on the necromancer and keeper ha ha. And yeah, whatever you male liking guys and gals want to see available on the male avatars... go for it.

me today:

"OH WOW I DIDN'T REALISE THERE WAS FREE DLC ON THE STORE THE WHOLE TIME"

*Download*

"hey lemme try my newly unlocked katari"

"super easy on routine, threatening should be pretty easy too I guess"

*threatening*

*gets one shotted constantly by ranged. even wraiths, laughable, pointless wraiths*

:(

ughhh.

come on bw, the mp has potential and what little momentum it has is being killed by this mess in the dlc and it being pretty dead for dlc-free rooms.

Apparently it only affects the character's rear? Which is so absurd as to be useless. I was right, my Reaver ought to be wearing a chainmail bikini for all the good her armor's doing her.

I'd buy that DLC, baby.

Isn't it nice to cheat your way into the leaderboards on master race? Glad console plebs can't pull shot like this. At least our leaderboards are semi-legit and not spread across do they don't they dlc skippers

Armor isn't bugged for me or my bf or as far as we can tell any of the people I regularly play with, all of us on console. Maybe it's a pc issue? I have dlc tho and the only bug I get is Templar not completing.

ME3MP also had large difficulty increases between bronze/silver/gold. This is a good thing. Also, katari can stomp threatening quite well.

Plenty of people on console play without the dlc, most don't even know there is dlc. You do know we can delete the dlc right? There isn't seperate leaderboards for dlc/not dlc so I really don't know what you're on about, and the fact you think people are cheating because they choose to play the game without broken content is hilarious.

DA:I difficulty jumps pre-dlc was pretty much like the ME3MP jumps, noticeable but manageable if you didn't play like a dummy.

The point I was making was that it's a borderline intolerable jump with the buggy armour/damage in the dlc, especially for katari who are pretty weak on defence for a warrior and don't have the luxury of health steal like reaver. Routine seems "okay" with this bug because of the lower amount of ranged enemies being spawned there making it easy to spam ranged attacks and avoid damage but even then I had many routine matches with various level 17+  who would get taken down from full health with 2 or 3 good melee hits (guessing they were there for some kind of farming or fed up at doing threatening with armour bug?) Before I installed the dlc those sorts of people on routine wouldn't even be scratched.

Going back my katari some more on threatening was okay once I hit 15. I just did my best to knock down people before they could hit me, but if I ran into anyone with physical immunity, I'd be dead. The idea that we should essentially "get good" in response to a bug seems absurd though.

my experience on ps4 was that it was hard to find a room in perilous and below that it was rare to find anyone who knew what they were doing. I presume people still on the dlc had a similar situation to me where they had spent all their time so far in SP and when they came to try out MP, they didn't even think to look in the store for extra stuff. I'm sure you can delete it on PS4 but I imagine you'll have to reinstall/re-patch the whole game, which can be a bit of a pain for an MP you might not even be sure about.
