And promoting 100 billion times so you're invincible isn't "trying hard"?

Did you read my thoughts on it?

Mofojokers has a fever... and the cure... is more... Spirit Mark!

See, your problem is assuming that someone has a level 20 character that they don't wish to reset simply because they are a try-hard. Some people may Youtube guides and might need that class to be level 20 for a day or two because they simple don't have the time to be all pro 1337 like you and grind a class back to level 20 in an hour.

I do, however, frequently promote simply because I am a perfectionist with my builds. If I have one point misspent for a video I'm doing, I have to promote to fix it. That happens a lot to me... *grumblegrumble*bloody Sleeping Powder*grumblegrumble*

The funny thing is that you are an elitist and don't want to play with people that don't play like you. That is quite obnoxious, because Perilous is cake if you have a good team, even with zero promotions. Your justification that you kick people that want to bring a level 20 into, say, a Perilous match is outright rude. As I said, not everyone has perfect gear setups or countless hours to spend into a video game, but still enjoy the difficulty and challenge of Perilous, where the team has to be spot on, and one misstep could mean wiping. That seems pretty fun to me. Endless grinding from 1-20? Not so fun to me.

My friend Shibumi has a constitution of 43, cunning of 30, willpower of only 12.  He has the Reaver 250 operation completed banner.  He has pulled the Sulevin Blade 5 times. That was when I last asked him on Saturday morning.

Does it look good?

all of the 250 banners I have seen so far just look like the player cards. So imagine the select character card on its side.

I don't really pay attention to banners or titles or such.  I do think it is the same picture as the Reaver card on the character select screen.

Eh, I'm not a fan of people who rush ahead either. This is a dungeon crawler, not a shooter. I don't give 2 ***** about kills. I care about loot. ALL of the loot. If you rush ahead when we need you to open a door, I am going to spam the **** out of the F4 key, until you either A) Die for being stupid or B.) Open the exit door and teleport me to you. Then, I'm going to quit. Because **** you. Idiot.

If the person rushing ahead can actually clear those spawns by himself, then what's the problem? The other players can pick up pots and clear treasure rooms while he does and the whole game takes less time overall. It's easy to accuse people of being try-hards, but maybe they just care about efficiency. Food for thought.

I agree.

though i did find it amusing once where id opened up a chest, revenant pops out. Im thinking okay cool, i will dish out the magic on you.

It flew out of the room and headed straight for the rogue in the hallway.

Poor rogue.....and team......

Mind you, the group i had, i did ask them to stick with me for the chest, and they ran off so
.....

That's when i found out how awesome stonefist is :D

Are you serious? That's....a bit of a disappointment. I expected something both original and badass. Rehashing the characters cards, despite their good art, is pretty lame.

I, personally, can't keep a character @ L20.  All that wasted xp.

^ That right there. ><

I run ahead of he group all the time as an assassin on threatening. That is my job. I stealth ahead of the group, kill the shadow or stalker with hundred blades and then stealth out again. While the little melee enemies decide to go run back to attack my team I am free to assassinate every archer in the meantime.

As for other classes? I wouldn't recommend it. Really I only keep one rule in mind to running ahead, and that is to never do it when there is still a group of enemies in the previous room. I don't want to run ahead, assassinate the stalker, and then have another group run to kill my team who is still fighting the previous enemies.

Lol @ guy complaining at people who don't promote.

I've stopped doing it, wanna know why? Because it isn't fun. Playing a low level character with barley any skills is just boring as hell.

I'm not going to spend hundreds of hours re leveling classes to the point where it finaly makes a significant difference. I play for fun not as a 2nd job.

I never meant to be rude bud sorry if it seems that way. Also i love helping people promote i normally add them to friends if i find them worthwhile and always help them. You see gear will only go so far and newer difficultys are comming. If you play for fun then thats ok routine and threating will serve you well. For us we wish to be ready remember when platinum came out for me3mp lol boy did that jump up there. With dragon age mp having a promotion buff alot of us have taken to needing this for higher difficultys and thats why they put this in. Just to show you how much i love mp check my thread out. :)

Uggh one of those body builder types with massive arms and chicken legs. Tell your friend to rotate the routines.

Try Hard reporting for duty sir. Routine is the fastest way to grind out challenges when you're low level, so it stands for reason you'd find OP players pacing the game. Noobies infiltrate Threatening and Perilous and wreck the game or require a carry but where's the outrage there?  You can't be mad about one and not about the other. I do run-aheads on Routine all the time. Anything that gets passed it's usually harmless enough for the team to handle. I don't force them to skip rooms either. It's usually some other guy on the team that does it (since I open any rooms designated for my kit) trying to keep pace with me instead of looting. Threatening and Perilous are completely different however. Pulling a run-ahead can cost you the game... and a kick (and it's usually a noob doing it).

Yea sorry if I came across that way too.

But honestly i play perilous most of the time as its the most fun, i wish devs asked the question "is it fun to promote" because im pretty sure most people dont enjoy it.

I dont recall any nonsense like that in mass effect 3 multiplayer, i really hate when devs add some artificial game lengthener which in itself is anti fun and is clearly going to divide people in the long run.

They could have done it so if you get xx kills (say 1000) you get +1 of a stat, they could have made it an rng drop, they could have made it based on achievements).

Instead its promoting which is just boring as heck, i want to be 20 and I want to play perilous so I hate that they are forcing me to eventually be sub-par comapred to others and doing something i dont enjoy. But i guess unlike mass effect3 I will not be playing this MP after several months because of choices like this so ill just make the best of it while im not severely gimped compared to everyone else.

In other games where promoting/ prestiging features the reward is almost always cosmetic only, its a choice that wont effect how well you do. But in this the opposite is true and I hate that.

And promoting 100 billion times so you're invincible isn't "trying hard"?

Edit - Sorry. I thought I was responding to Mofojokers.

You need 500-550 promotions to get maxed-out magic, melee, and ranged damage reduction. Someone playing the game as a full time job would reach it in ~7-10 months, or maybe 2-3 months of cheating.

Personally I think the attribute buff from promotions should be looked at. Damage reduction becomes increasingly more effective for each additional point (i.e. 98% damage reduction means twice as much damage as 99% damage reduction).

I agree bud in me3mp there was no need to reset but now there is. Alot of us came to the conclusion this is done to prolong the game by adding difficultys that will be impossible unless you promote. It seems like a big ea thing not bioware see there aim is to prolong the gameplay make you want to go further. Then you throw in a rng system that is against you like the Dragon age game app for your phone. Its about enticing you to buy platinum in hopes of getting better stuff to go further.

There's no need for the promotion system if they just gave out random respec cards and random stat boosters from RNG. The Prestige system is merely 'show-and-tell'.

If you take a level 1 into threatening and clear the level you will more than likely come out a level 7.  Maybe 6 or 8, but more than likely 7.  At level 7, the following characters can have:

Reaver - Rampage - Dragon Rage - Devour

Katari - Charging Bull - Mighty Blow - Pommel Strike

Assassin - Hidden Blades - Twin Fangs - Stealth

Archer - Explosive Shot - Leaping Shot - Longshot

Legionnaire - Walking Fortress or Counterstrike - Payback Strike - Shield Wall

Keeper starts with Barrier and Chain Lightning

Templar gets the WoH/Purge combo by Level 8

It really isn't that bad.
