Bought the schematic cause I love Templar armor. Especially for Cassandra. Problem is it seems very hard to get good modifiers on it. Can someone offer some advice?

I really like Infused Vyrantium Samite for spirit resistance for the defensive cloth slot. 28% spirit resistance definitely eases the OH GOD THE ARCANE HORROR BARRAGE JUST OBLITERATED ME, that seems to happen on hard and nightmare.

I also usually go for the fire resistance from wyvern or dragon scales for the leather defensive slot. I hate when rage demons and wraiths put that burn effect on you, it always seems to last right beyond when your barrier runs out.

As far as the leather utility, well Cassandra's not a rogue. I'd go cunning (lurker scales). Both for the crit chance and the range defense.

I tend to favor stagger on being hit though for tanks. Which unfortunately the templar armor doesn't have.

in the cloth slot, I personally throw on 1.75% (x8 = 14) magic resistance, Give the helm of the inquisition 1.75 (x6 = 10.5 [11]) magic resistance.. Noble shield 1.75 (x8 = 14) magic resistance.. Superb belt of magic defence resistance (10).. 50% (49). Throw on the templar passive, and the forces perk.. 70% magic resistance.. who needs anything else. Your templar is almost magically innert.. Hell, take the overlord helm and throw on 1.75 magic resistance (x10 17.5 [18]) for an even better boost.. almost reaching 80%.. if you use a mastercrafting boost item, you could very well hit the cap.

Does Magic resist affect damage by the elements?  Does anyone know how that works?

According to IGN:

Magic Defense
The percentage of damage resistance to all magical or elemental attacks.

Melee Defense
The percentage of damage resistance to all melee physical attacks.

Ranged Defense
The percentage of damage resistance to all ranged physical attacks.

Cold Resistance
The percentage of damage resistance to cold damage attacks.

Electrical Resistance
The percentage of damage resistance to electrical damage attacks.

Fire Resistance
The percentage of damage resistance to fire damage attacks.

Spirit Resistance
The percentage of damage resistance to spirit damage attacks.

It is usually only half a boost compared to the rest of the stats and thus is harder to reach the cap, but with a templar build, it is very easy to almost reach it. Can reach it no problem with a dwarf templar and then some though.
