These guys/gals are towering muscle bound people who don't seem any stronger than any other race.

Basically anything DPS built, they make rubbish tanks because once you get enough armor, enemies already deal only 1 damage to you.. better off making dwarves tanks because their passive reduces the damage that bypasses armor.

idk about f!Qunari, but m!Qunari is perfect for 2-hander warrior, especially if you go Reaver.  m!Qunari's too buff to be anything but a warrior, imo.

Probably a DW Assassin Qunari would be the most overkill.

Hm.. let's see.

Elves 25% ranged defense are useless.

Dwarf 25% magic defense are awesome for a tank, otherwise useless.

Humans free skill point is redundant pat level 7

Qunari gets Vitaar which gives free damage and 10% melee defense(Which I hear is actually 25%).

So... yeah. Qunari are the best dps race by a good notch!

Working with a Fem!qunari mage, nice parallel to Bull's THer.

I honestly woul be freaking out, seeing two qunari in that vistaar, one with a massive weapon, the other raining fire an lighting

On the downside, the Vitaar makes you look like a juggalo.

Why's that? I get that it doesn't make a great difference eventually, once you have all the important skills, but level 7?

Most builds complete their core at about 7-8, at which each point becomes marginally less worth. Most builds finish at 15-17, at which most point are quality of life points or just marginally improving passives. I consider my level 12 builds optimized pre-specialization.

Fire mine + Clean Burn + Fade Step + Winter's Stillness + Energy Barrage = 9 points = level 7 (If I am right. Doing it on top of my head!)

Barriere --> Strength of Spirit and Dispel + Fade Step + Winter's stillness + Chain Lightning/Winter's Grasp = 9 points = level 7

Mighty Blow(upgraded) + Pommel + Combat Roll = 9 points = level 7

All passives --> Turn the Blade + Combat Roll + double taunt = 10 points = level 8

Full Draw + Long shot + Evade = 8 points = level 6

Flank attack upgraded into Death blow + Evade = 10 points = level 8

or

Flank attack upgraded into Twin Fang upgraded + Shadow Strike =  9 points = level 7

In matter of efficiency the extra point drops in value after level 4 (Most core abilities is gained early. Energy Barrage, Pommel Strike/Mighty Blow, Twin Fangs/Stealth/Flank Attack, etc, etc) and gets another huge drop as the core pre-specialization is complete. Each point still holds a good value -- but not moreso than what a Vitaar can give you. Especially not end game when an extra point equal about nothing, while a vitaar yields crit chance and attack%+. Which means a lot of free damage. Especially for mages, where more base damage means a lot. The natural low damage of staffs means the added base damage multiplies with spells, meaning you deal a bunch of extra damage.

Well, to each their own. I see your point, though I also like to get the "not so core" and spec skills ASAP (with some classes more than others).

Not trying to compare races, anyway. I was just curious whether I was missing something about the level 7 thing.

I was considering a DW tempest....but after reading about how the vital works.....maybe a Mage instead...

I have Bull using mace and shield. Some of those shield bashing skills definitely make the character look like they have super strength. I watched Bull bash his shield into a group of enemies and they all went flying. So I guess I answered my own question.

As far as I know, Bull can get an Armor boosting head-gear, which helps him tank, but player Qunari don't get that option.  Heck, I've never seen them as craftable schematics, which is total... err... bull.

I do think Vitaar is cool, however.  Customizable "makeup" rather than being stuck with a single tatoo or what-not throughout the game.

All vitaar adds to your base damage which is why it makes Qunari the best mages lets not even get started on the other damage bonuses that come with the good ones.

Kinda funny how Qunari are the best mages.
